Watch Polamalu

Simply put Roy Williams is OVERRATED.

I'd like to hear exactly why he's so overrated.

A LOT of people around here have a bad tendency to just make posts spouting off with any opinion they have without actually offerring any substance to support their opinion.

troy polamalu is ray lewis in a safety's body.

outstanding player..

how about when Roy got thrown down by a Commander last year.... threw him down with a wrist flick. real embarrasing.

That was a tennessee Titan player and it was in the preseason (read: low intensity)

nope - happened in a real game. i dont get "preseason" games here and watched in disbelief. i'm sure others can nail the exact game/play.

some of you guys are out there.

Ray Lewis in a safety's body? ***? Roy is a better tackler, hitter and makes more big plays. Roy punishes ppl, Troy tackles them.

Troy looked average in coverage today. I expected more. Roy can play at that level on a bad day.

I can't stress this enough, Roy on that defense would make many more big plays if allowed to roam so freely.

Shoot he had more turnovers on our D playing for Zimmer who as we all know calls a very conservative game.

punishes... lol. he "punished" brunnel and yet we lost the game with two BOMBS late against mr. toasty & co. The only people he punishes is cowboy fans who are clamoring for a great safety which we've lacked since #28 got hurt & retired :(

Chris Brown did stiff arm Roy to the ground but Roy was grabbing at his Jersey. He didn't put a solid hit on him by any means.

Look at what he did to Jacobs this year on the goal line. Roy stuck him forced a fumble and recovered it. Jacobs is 250+ and Roy was standing straight up (no running start) while Brandon was moving towards the endzone. Roy rarely gets Run Over and I have never seen him being taken for a ride by ANY RB.

That is the point. Roy most often takes a bad angle and hence got tossed like a RAG DOLL without a "solid hit on him". If he were on the Eagles/Skins you guys would be ripping his play apart week after week considering his draft position.

He punished McNabb when he ran by him into the endzone to win us the Philly game.

chinch you are missing the point. Name me a saftey who doesn't get beat deep. Name me the saftey who didn't get beat this year by Moss that faced the Commanders. Roy was good in coverage this year. Check int's and balls batted down.

Roy is a SS and not a FS. He has better coverage skills that our starting FS which is why he was covering Moss late in those games. That shows you how bad we need a FS. He shouldn't have to be put in a position to be running down field deep with an opponents fastest and best wr. Stupid stupid stupid, we didn't draft him to do that. Late in the Colts game Troy was blitzing the qb, not deep in coverage. That's what SS's do more often than not. Play in the box.

Roy is a Playmaker, more so than Troy. Fact.

no, brady james punished mcnabb. roy got a game-winning "look what i found mom" freebie :)

i'll agree to big time disagree w/ you here.

if we had ronnie lott back there with him he'd still be taking bad angles, covering the wrong guy deep, getting turned around, blitzing late, dropping sure INTs and underwhelming us. I hope to god to be proven wrong and Roy is MVP of the league next year but i'm not holding my breath.

Rag doll? You can't be ****ing serious. MOST OFTEN TAKES A BAD ANGLE?
Can't be serious man.

You've got 1 play to reference... good for you...

He didn't seem to have a problem with his pursuit angle on these plays:

What about Lynch did you see the game he had against NE? That's what Roy needs to be doing, we've got to find a FS with great range so we can turn Roy loose.
Bingo!!!!!!!!

I think you're mistaking Keith Davis for Roy Williams.

A safety MVP of the league.. if that's what you expect (and it certainly appears that way) you'll be sorely dissappointed with ANYONE IN FOOTBALL HISTORY at that position.
