Watching McFadden today...

McFadden is good but he's the most hyped college back I've ever encountered since Ricky Williams.

Adrian peterson didn't get this kind of attention coming out of the draft nor did LaDanian Tomlinson, I'm worried expectations are too high for this particular player.

Peterson fizzled out a lot in big games too is another reason he fell and couldn't stay healthy.

Watching this Arkansas defense on 3rd down is like watching ours. Fitting its in Dallas.

EDIT: LOL @ Arkansas fumbling every big play.

Well, after that game, No way would I take Mcfadden with the #1 overall and a 35 Million payday, Think at least a top 10 with a good chance at top 5 money, but noway #1 and 35 Mil

AD recieved a lot of hype, he just had to share the hype with Calvin Johnson, JaMarcus Russell and the golden child aka Brady Quinn. If McFadden and AD switched drafts, McFadden may have gone to Arizona, but probably to Minnesota, while AD would go to Oakland, which is where McFadden will end up.

Would rather have Felix Jones than DMac... Will be cheaper and might end up being a better pro player.

You big 12 homers need to get a grasp on reality.

No Conference has won more Bowl games this decade.

No Conference has put out more NFL talent in the last decade.

Missouri spanked McFadden and Arkansas.

A VERY mediocre Michigan team now has Florida down 28-14 in the 3rd.

Let's see...

Adrian Peterson last game vs. Boise State:
20 carries, 77 yards, 3.9 YPC

Darren McFadden last game vs. Missouri:
21 carries, 104 yards, 5.0 YPC

It's a testament to how good McFadden really is if this is a bad game for him.

McFadden is a stud....no doubt.

Missouri had no worries from Dick as a passer. No worries at all. They had to focus on only two guys.....Jones and McFadden.

I watched that whole game. Missouri contained them totally.

Looks like Stewart from Oregon had a very nice game . . . . .

McFadden dominated a conference that churns out defensive studs as the only offensive weapon on his team. If you're going to let a bowl game sway you, I hope NFL GMs follow your lead and this stud drops like a rock.

He worked his upper body out too much and lost his balance, he became way too top heavy - hence him falling on first contact every time.

I really think Julius is juicing, no joke, and I'm not reaching for a reason to bash him anymore, but he's a ripped guy, and sometimes 'roids can make you so big that you lose agility, it happened to David Boston, he couldn't swivel because he was so big, although Julius isn't that ripped, but he's close

When JJ was academically ineligible from ND, I remember reading that he moved to AZ and started working out with T.Jones and David Boston. Maybe he taught him the tricks of the trade?

There is just so much you can do with your lower body before you lose quickness and flexibility. BULKING up down there can really mess you up.
I agree that the 8 lbs or so that JJ gained after his rookie year was all up top and fatally impacted his balance. You look at the guy in the last game of 2004, and the guy now and there is absolutley NO resemblence at all.

actually, having a strong lower body is a requisite for running backs, it helps them break tackles, and retain their balance when they're hit up top

that's why Marion Barber is so good, his lower body is so strong that he can drive through tackles
