Jacksonville is proven they are a very good team but ah... we still should have beat them but Bledsoe had to get hurt or watever that made him start playing like crap

Don't compare the Jags D with Baltimores then. Get real. And remember Rothlisburger was playing sick tonight, with a temp of around 100. He shouldn't have been playing.
You were the one that contended that the Jags didn't have a Superbowl quality offense. I simply used the Ravens as an example that you don't necessarily need one if your defense is that good. Now granted, the Jags defense probably isn't the same caliber as the Ravens "D" but their offense is certainly better than what Baltimore had.

The question is are they good enough to win the Superbowl this year? That I can't say for certain, because the AFC has some very good teams that the Jags will have to face, (definitely stiffer competition than the Ravens had to face when they went on their Superbowl run back in 2001). Considering how well their defense is playing, they have as good of a chance as any AFC powerhouse has right now.

But just based on what I've seen so far with these first two games, I'm willing to bet that they're good enough to go deep into the playoffs and should quite possibly play for the AFC championship. After that, it's anybody's guess.

Rashid Mathis INT #2 seals the deal.

I keep telling everyone that he's better than Newman and how we messed up by not drafting Kevin Williams in the first and Mathis in the 2nd round. If I were picking, we'd have had K.Williams and Luis Castillo and Merriman plus Mathis. A killer pass rush and a 'true lock down corner' would have made us truly a great defense.

We should have beat the Jags, but we didnt...
This is my biggest concern. Why do we continue to allow teams to hang around?
Our running game needs to gel, in order for us to become an elite team in this league.

I was thinking the same thing watching the game......we were one perfect pass from being up on the Jags 17-0 and our defense would have kicked in another gear......what a disappointment.....oh well.

I think you've been sampling some of your hero's herb ...Mathis is not as good as Newman

and we all pretty much know how great your talent evaluation is anyway, what with your belief that "Q-Bong Kartr" is an elite NFL player and that all 32 teams must somehow be incredibly stupid not to recognize all that elite ability just sitting there for the taking

I think everybody is overlooking a significant factor in the losses of the Cowboys and Steelers to Jacksonville: the weather. Both the Dallas defense and the Pittsburg defense wilted in the heat and humidity. The Jacksonville team is a good one, I think, but I doubt it is as good away from home. It was a lack of endurance that did Dallas in there, I believe (over and above Bledsoe's lapses and the referees' mistakes).

Angus, I was at the Jacksonville game. It was humid but it was not hot. Our loss at Jacksonville was a team loss and they really can't blame the weather. Bledsoe had a very bad day at the office but the whole team showed some opening day 'rust' (not completely sorted out against the skins either).

We & the refs beat us against JV. That should have been a TD for Witten. The way their CBs were pushing our WRs around, and then they throw a freaking flag against Witten, who is just getting position to catch the ball.....pitifull. Their offensive line also got away with plenty of holds.

The home team in the NFL is getting as bad as in the NBA, where the refs are so afraid of pissing off the fans, they nearly always over flag the visitors.

I'm writing this knowing the Jags whipped the Steelers, so I do feel very good about our team. The next time we play JV, in the SB, we finish the job with a dagger!
