In the press conference Bill said Watkins was in a position to make a play and didn't. The next statement was you will see Coleman next week. What do ya'll think?

I think Watkins still plays-- a lot. Coleman sucked as a FS.

The thing is that Watkins is not being outmatched physically.

I hope not. I thought he played well. He was pretty-much in single coverage vs Plax, and Plax is TALL.

The kid is 6'5,, he should match up with anyone. The kid as to just learn how to attack the ball once he does that, he will be fine.

He went out of his way to say that Watkins wasn't necessarily losing his job. He just wants him to not be so meek and attack the ball.

I think it meant exactly that....I think Coleman will be the starting FS this week.

That first TD the other night I thought he had pretty good coverage he just didn't make a play on the ball. He let Plax catch it then tackled him?

Do you think Carolina will execute the same play that Philly and the Giants executed?

If they watch the game films, I'm sure they will add it to their game plan.

Watkins...wake up.

He is so frustrating he seems to lose the ball in the air, he is in stride and in position and stops prematurley as the guy runs by him or fails to make a jump at the ball to at least knock it down, play him in dime defense and put in the lesss than flashy but seldom burned Keith Davis, he's bullet proof.

second half of the season Watkins will be a stud.... I hope!!!

he reminds me of Kevin Smith who took Ike Holts job early (because Holt reeked) in 92 and ended the season shutting down guys named Jerry and Andre!!!

I think Watkins will spend a significant amount of time on the sidelines this weekend watching the Cowboys D perform.

You do realize that Davis lost his job because he was absolutely horrendous in coverage last year right?

"Seldom burned" and "Keith Davis" cannot be used in the same sentence.

You mean they'll have the ref block Roy out?

Watkins has everything you could want in a FS, except the deer in the headlight mentality he has right now. He made 2 true mistakes so far, and both were on the same play. He bit on a stop route and then refused to tackle and wrap the same player up who scored.

Other than that, he was right there in position to make the other couple of plays and just froze up. We know he can make those plays, because Parcells said he was intercepting everything in site in training camp, so obviously he knows what to do. Now had he been 3 yards behind the receiver, or went up to defend the ball and still burned, then I would have a serious problem.

He wasn't scorched quite with the frequency this man has been. He gave up one in SAn Fran and played hurt at Carolina, by no means am i calling for a pro bowl trip for Davis but that is how little i have seen fro mWatkins that it wouldn't hurt my feelings to make a switch.

How many times has Watkins been "scorched"? Mind you, on the Plaxico play he wasn't "scorched" he simply didn't attempt a play on the ball. Both he and Plax were basically standing still at the time.
