We are 12-18-1 since Dak got that contract extension

Dak has been bad the past two games but before Tampa he had led the offense to scoring at a rate they were on pace to make NFL history. I don't know enough to know how much of the past two games have been on him, coaching/playcalling or what, but I think saying they shouldn't have paid him is complete hindsight. Dak can play QB at a high level. Literally every NFL exec and front office would agree, so random fans can argue on here until they are blue in the face and it's still true. However, NOT A SINGLE TEAM WHO HAS MADE A PLAYOFF OR SUPERBOWL RUN HAS BAD COACHING. THAT IS THE CONSTANT YOU ARE ALL LOOKING FOR. Elite QBs have won SBs. Journeyman QBs have won SBs. ALL WITH ELITE COACHING STAFFS. All of them. Jerry should have hired Ben Johnson, Joe Brady, etc. We've had one good coach since Jimmy in Parcels. One. That's it. The playcalling the last few games in particular has been atrocious. Granted, I don't know how much of that is on Dak to audible at the line, but how do you run so few slant and mesh routes against the blitz in favor of long developing downfield plays? What the hell is happening to our O-line? How are they significantly worse when the all-pro returns?

Getting rid of Dak means you have to trust Jerry and McClay to correctly evaluate and acquire a better player. That is not even close to a guarantee. At this point we are basically screwed until next year unless with a new coach unless they can somehow get it together. The only shred of hope we have is the defense looks some better. Some. Have to pray the offense can get back to form and get hot, but they are wasting all the Ws they should get against bad teams.

This is clear proof that paying Dak that amount of money to keep him was completely pointless. The owners need to understand that having an overpaid quarterback guarantees nothing—unless, of course, your name is Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes and you have coaches like Bill Belichick or Andy Reid at the helm. Just as it eventually dawned on teams regarding running backs, they need to realize that paying such high salaries is actually detrimental rather than beneficial. To be a true contender, you need a well-balanced team. Furthermore, it’s impossible for a team to function with two rookie head coaches; it’s simply absurd.

If I were Jones, I would have a serious conversation with Dak to reach a mutually beneficial agreement—specifically, to trade him after June 1, 2027. In the meantime, the team should "tank" this year to secure the best available quarterback in the 2027 draft and begin a necessary rebuilding process.

Frankly, while I think we do need to plan his replacement, I'm terrified that Jerry is going to try to draft Archie and sell him as the next great Manning, when he is horrible at Texas.

Arch is not coming out in 2027 anyways. Heck, he might even get benched or transfer out to a smaller school. Even if Arch was great and going to be the #1 pick, Dallas wouldn’t have the ammo to go get him.

Nonsense

Dak could be playing here free, he still isnt talented enough to get it done. He shrinks in big games. Unless an all-time defense is built around him, hes not winning you a super bowl.

The defense has been bad. We all know that. But Dak is a loser QB. Even if we held Green Bay to 13 points yesterday, Dak would give you 10
Defense and a ben Johnson run game. I don't really give a crap about receivers when it comes to that mental midget

I could see that, which is a plus for us if we're trying to go QB lol.

Dak is mediocre at best, but it's not a lack of cap space, that makes them suck.

the defense has been
Should have never been paid after the green bay game. Just driving the nails deeper into the coffin. Cant pay a quarterback elite contract money when they aren't elite / game changers

But as much as its fun to point fingers they all should be pointing at Jerry and Stephen
the defense has been bottom feeding in the same period.

you can't expect to score 30 a game and have a winning record without a defense...and then the offense falls apart and the whole thing is in shambles.

3 years running, this defense has sucked. we look bad against and average offense last night. they went into preserve mode in second half, as in the first half they converted 9 of 10 3rd downs...that's absurd.

there is only two elite QBs right now...and top 12 QBs make 52 and more....

you want to tell me there are 11 elite QBs in the league excluding Dak?
