I would add that some of the teams that were already better than us , got better too

thats why we needed to be more aggressive in Free agency and in drafting when possible

This. We may have gotten better, however a lot of NFC teams got better as well leveling the playing field. Those teams that were already tops like SF and Phi had excellent drafts and FA signings. We're going to see what our HC truly brings to the table on offense. Our D is evidently what we're banking on to make the playoffs.

Well EVERY team improves through the draft, be it:
- top end talent
- improving weaknesses
- improving schematically
- depth
- developmental strength
- veteran presence by trading picks.

Unfortunately, for the week following the draft the headline and focus is purely on TOP END TALENT.

True to a certain degree but the Texans and Eagles recognized the weakness of the draft beyond the late first round and made sure to maximize their chances

to be clear, Its not about the players we took when it was out turn…..it was about the failure to move up and try to best the Niners and Eagles if possible. They are our direct competitors
