We are going to win the Superbowl if we beat Indy

No you're just a loyal fan. Loyal has been replaced with homer. In reality the realists are bandwagon fans.

We can definitely compete with the best. No doubt we make more believers on Sunday.

Loyal fans WANT the Cowboys to win. Homers EXPECT the Cowboys to win even when the odds are against them. A fan doesn't have to be clueless to be a loyal fan IMO.

Saying the Cowboys have a shot to compete for a Superbowl this year isn't too far-fetched in my opinion (though there is still a good shot we might not even make it to the playoffs as of today). But saying "WE ARE GOING TO THE SB", yeah - that's being a Homer. Sorry, Op.

I believe we can beat anyone if we play our brand of football...

anyone

That's the difference this year. We sure can. But doesn't mean we will, just that we can. Nothing is 100%. We could also play our brand of football really well and still get beaten due to bad ref calls and bad bounces by the football or if new injuries occur.

Let's hope the bounces DO go our way and the refs don't screw us over too much and we stay relatively healthy though. THEN, yes, we have a real chance to make some major noise this year.

The yr that Indy won the Super Bowl their run defense was horrendous . Rodney Harrison had told coach dungy you will never win with a defense like this.

I actually see a parallel between the Indy Super Bowl team and the Cowboys. Peyton Manning decided to finally rely on the running game and Joseph Adi (spelling?). Previously, during the playoffs, he would try to win the game with his arm. But he finally realized he wasn't going anywhere if the Colts couldn't establish a running game. And even in the AFC Championship Game when the Patriots went up 21-3, he still stuck with the running game. And the decisive scoring touchdown came on a running play when every Marvin Harrison told Peyton to hand the ball off and NOT throw it.

Then, of course, the Colts lucked into a Super Bowl win by playing the Rex Grossman-led Bears.

But I digress. The running game ultimately led Peyton to his first and only championship game.

We can follow the same recipe and hopefully the same results.

Stranger things have happened and part of it is getting hot at the right time. We'll need Free, Martin and Murray healthy in order to do so. And I still think our defense is suspect. However, the last two games their tackling has looked really good outside of a few instances and that's a big positive.

My sentiments exactly.

I think of the 2007 Giants. While everyone talks about how great their defense was, we beat them twice, and they squeaked into the playoffs with a 9-7 record. Their defense started playing great during the playoffs.

I don't want to get too ahead of myself because we haven't even made the playoffs yet. But I have a good feeling about this team, particularly because of the offensive line. I also see a more mature Romo who is avoiding the big mistake. And I really expect, if we need to, we can unleash the passing game, as we saw against Philly when we absolutely had to score.

But first things first - beat the Colts. And I expect us to do so ...

Dallas 34
Indy 24

I'm really expecting a win in that game too. The Colts have not looked good in their last 2 games. They barely beat the Browns and the Texans game was close in Indy last week. We really are the better team and will get them at home with the playoffs on the line. The crowd at AT&T stadium should really be into this one. The Colts technically don't need the win in this game. It is a BIG long shot for them to improve on the seed they are in currently. They are either going to be the 3rd seed and play a team like Baltimore or the 4th seed and play a team like SD. It's technically not a must win. Cincinnati could lose both of their next 2 games and if that happens, the Dallas game wouldn't even matter. INDY is locked in as the 3 or 4th seed.

True, playoffs are a 1 game deal not a series and the league is filled with playoff upsets, the #1 seed does not always make it the SB

I hate the cliche...One game at a time and the like that comes from players and coaches....but in this case it fits the bill.

Let's see if we even make the playoffs before we talk about winning the superbowl.
If we can get in the playoffs, let's talk about getting to the superbowl before we talk about winning the superbowl.

If we can get into the superbowl...at that time let's talk about winning it.

This season is about walk it instead of talking it for me.

Prove you can get beyond 8-8...they have done so.
Prove you can beat a division rival that is a must win game in december...they have done so.

The next prove it to me is...prove you can get into the playoffs.

First Post. I have lurked for years;

Cowboys Nation is stirring with excitement. Its all around me and I see it here and everywhere else.

This years team is a good football team. But I think people sense it can be a Great One.

I have been hesitant to "Believe". As Cowboys Fans we have been heart broken year after year for awhile now.

But I see it. I cant articulate it properly without taking hours of my time, but I see "it", and others do too.

I saw "it" in the early 90s teams, I saw it in GB at the beginning of the season, the last year they won the SB. And I saw it in Seattle the year they lost to the Falcons in the playoffs. This team is "Building".

I say were just about there....so go ahead and Predict SB! Believe! Jump on this train and ride it, push it, encourage it! If not now, then when?

We most likely don't make the Super Bowl. Hell, we might slip up this week. But, that's okay. We are "Building" and the results are on the field.

Before the season I was down on Garret and JJ. But they have proven me wrong. I say give Garrett more time. Give Jason a chance to build this thing. I think he is doing with Long Term Success in mind.

But the way I see it, as it stand right now we legitimately have a chance at beating Any team in the NFL. I haven't been able to say that and actually believe it, for a very long, long time.

Here is how I see it on a scale from 1-10. But a lot of this depends on future injuries and who gets the seeds and HFA. However that all plays out will have a great impact.

NE. 9.3 -- They have done it for a long time now, they are experienced, they are playing tough football. And I think Brady and BB the window to "win it" again is closing...

Seattle 8.9 -- That defense is really really good. Haven't seen one like that since Ray Lewis;

Denver 8.5 -- Manning
GB 8.4 -- Rodgers

Dallas 8.3 -- We are a wildcard here. The others teams above them have "Proven It" . The Cowboys haven't. One thing is for sure, there wont be a lack of effort from the Cowboys in trying to see just how good they can be. We absolutely have a freaking chance!!! we are right there. imho. But, they are unproven.

Pittsburgh 7.8 -- Big Ben is tough in the playoffs. He has 2 super bowl wins. Pittsburgh will be tough.

Ravens/Colts/Bengals/Lions/Eagles 7.5 -- Who knows what your going to get with these teams? All have some studs. good coaching. any given Sunday.

Cardinals. 7.4 -- I think they are done without a QB. But that defense is tough and It wouldn't surprise me to see them do well.

Saints Falcons Panthers. 5.0 They just haven't been able to win ball games. But, one of them will get into playoffs and it would surprise me to see any of them do well.

So, we are right there in the hunt for a Super Bowl. I think we beat the Colts, beat the Commanders, beat the Lions in the Playoffs....

and then go to GB and give them all they can handle..I wouldn't be surprised if we beat them either. Now, if we beat Seattle in Seattle? That will surprise me. I know, we match up well, etc etc and I do think we have a fighters chance, but that Team is playing well.

I thought so but unlike teams in the AFC standing there is no x, y or z by their name showing they have yet to clinch. For all practical purpose yes they will be in

It should. They just seem to match up well against us.

They're a red team. We can't beat red teams.

Good news is that Indy is blue. We beat blue teams and split with the green ones. That's just the way it goes. It's also why we shouldn't wear our blue uniforms, or we'll beat ourselves like we did on Thanksgiving.

Yea. I know they haven't clinched the division yet, but they are going to the playoffs either way. The results last week guaranteed that. They are in

That's being a fan that believes all the way. Of course as a fan you expect them to win, especially the group we have now. Time and time again they've overcome doubt this season so I can understand the OP's thought process for thinking that if we beat Indy. In addition to our success vs the defending champs in their house. Winning Sunday would give them back to back wins vs a 9-4 and 10-4 team.

To believe we win the Super Bowl if we beat the Colts is to believe these things are mutually exclusive... they are not. Each game is it's own challenge onto it's self. Beating the Colts only means we have another game to win the following week.

If Dallas wins against Indy and Washington I think there is good chance they end up in super bowl.
