IN PLAYOFFS PAST: a 7 win Seattle team knocked off a loaded Saints squad, a 9-7 Giants team won the Super Bowl against a Patriots dynasty, and the Eagles rolled to a title with a backup QB they traded away years earlier.

Delusional maybe, but look at this Cowboys team's talent and ask why can't something magical happen in spite of the recent issues?
Exactly, and, that's why we all keep watching. Anything is possible. Likely? No........but possible. You'd like to think one season some luck would break our way. I guess we'll find out.

The NFC playoff standings --- in reverse order:

SEA & DET both 7-7..... not in
WAS 7-5-1 ....not in
NYG 8-6-1 ....not in
DAL 10-4 = your thread title.
The Cowboys' goal is to win one more game to close out the regular season so that they secure the 5th seed playoff berth = to going on the road to play the NFC South division winner.
1 win doesn't do it. If the Giants win out we need 2 wins. But I'm starting not to care. Let's beat SF and Philly and whoever else shows up.

Another one and done year seems very plausible at this point.

If the defense doesn't regain its smothering style of play, I can see another one and one scenario. Once Dak went down week one and the defense took over games, it was apparent that the Cowboys would go as far as their defense would take them with the running game and Dak playing complimentary football.

Magical doesn't seem to ever happen for Dallas. It happens against them.

With an offensive play caller putting up major points. A QB putting up major points. An offense playing well.

Worst case scenario...we AT LEAST have a chance to outscore a team if Defense is hurting due to injuries.

YES...WE ALL KNOW...that playoffs are harder on all teams as teams tighten things up. Nothing is guaranteed.

Bottom line is...NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR IN PLAYOFFS

Threads like this is why I have grown to despise the ultra low I.Q. Dallas fanbase. Joe burrow has as many playoff wins in his 3 year career as the Dallas Cowboys have had over the last 26 years. Let that sink in for a while.

This team is very good, but its not the best, not close. And the injuries are mounting. Getting beat by the Jags might have been the best thing for us. If the FO is smart and rests veterans the last few weeks and we can be healthy going into the playoffs we have a 50/50 shot to beat the Bucs.

The Cowboys can beat any team they might play in the first round. That is all you can ask for. The only team the Cowboys would be underdogs against is at San Francisco.

They would underdogs in Philly as well. Bucs that might be more even.

I LUV LUV LUV how this place has again turned on this team, predicting doom and gloom same witj the media etc

why?

Lets see,

before a game was played this season this place stated we at best would be 7-10 because we had a terrible offseason, one of the worst in history,

then,
game 1 we lose ugly to the Bucs and Dak goes down....

Que the doom and gloomers to pounce again...

this place said no way we could even win 4 games with Rush as a backup, no #1 wr, everyone sux and its OVER and stated the rumor Jerry was organically tanking by not restocking talent.

even some said the draft had 73 as a project and others taken were suspect and overrated. reach ios the word we heard A LOT!!!

Odd not one of those things held true.....

Now we have Fans doing it again, saying we can not win a playoff game, its over saying we are supposed to have an endless amount of depth to cover up so many injuries at the same positions?

sure count us out, its worked great so far .

10-4 maybe a 12 win season B2B playoff berths , yes please

everyone talk like its over.

"THIS PLACE"? So your saying the whole board predicted 7 wins?

I was incorrect, as you pointed out.
10-4 DAL goes 1-2 down the stretch and 8-5-1 NYG (my error that they were 8-6-1) wins out -
Giants 11-5-1
Cowboys 11-6-0
New York is 5th seed, Dallas is 6th seed.

Nope, unlike all other professional sports the NFL is 1 game, not a series. The job they face is to be better than their opponent on that given day. I don't know who will win it all but I do know Cowboys have talent both sides of the ball that are capable of winning it all

I wouldn't have it any other way....the opposite is being miserable fans.
The miserable fans are the people like Mr. Shiner beer, who gets SUPER MAD at strangers' opinions on a message board. Imagine letting something said online by someone you don't know, and have never met, raise your blood pressure. There COUNTLESS examples of his posts that display how miserable he is. Just because people don't think the Cowboys will do much doesn't mean they're miserable in real life. They're the ones that watch a loss, then move on with their day.
