Right!! An apology for their archaic way of looking@ football. Somehow Dez is the problem but Tyrone Crawford isn't. The man has been stealing money from us since he's been with us. He's never made a pro bowl,he's never had above 8 sacks, he's just as injury prone but yet no one ever says Crawford needs to take a pay cut..& the fan base (whom is easily lead) take this& post about it like "Dez is a distraction" Dez doesn't run routes which is some of the stupidest ish I hear or see. I can't with these people so I don't....trubill talking!

way more than dez has to improve for this team to be serious contender for the superbowl we have had one of the best lines in football and we still cant win a divisional playoff game this TEAM and coaching staff have won one wildcard playoff win in over eight years and haven't won a divisional playoff game in over twenty years its not all on dez but he has to be better like the rest of team and coaches and front office

Scapegoating TCrawford is just as lame

He may be overpaid by 1-2m but so what????

He never misses time, he plays several positions and gets the most consistent pressure on the DL

He gets paid 10 mill a season& got a whopping 4sacks this season& that's down from the previous season when he got a world dominating 4&half sacks, but yet he's worth it. he plays several positions because he can't play one whole& effective enough where he wouldn't play several....he's too slow to be a end...he's too small to play on the inside. Out of position player(o.o.p) that doesn't have a special position but yet y'all feel as if he deserves it..man gtfohwtbs. he doesn't get the most pressure D law does& has when he's healthy like this past year& why becuz he has a natural position, he doesn't play everywhere as u claimed becuz he's good enough@one(made pro bowls)(All 2nd team NFL)& What has Crawford done to warrant such a contract like that,what year he balled out & we were like we gotta keep Crawford he's a monster, pay that man! I know why but this forum wouldn't want the truth so we'll stick with ur thinking (cowboys thinking) o.o.p players deserving 10 mill a season, but somehow wanna question Dez when his peers are making(money) comprable or more i.e. Watkins,etc & Crawford peers, well u tell me who gets 10 mill a season for the production of a 3rd,4th rounders results.this very thinking is why we are who we are!

I agree with you. Seems some are trying to blame Dak or Dez only but in reality many reasons from front office to players to coaches all had a hand in last season. So far this offseason we haven't had the off the field distractions like last year. Hopefully that will be huge. Not only that sounds like we will be more creative on offense and opening up the playbook

At this time, yes we probably are better off w/o BUT to no fault of his. FO has done so much damage handling his contract issue to where it's beyond repair IMO. It's as if Dez's been made the public scapegoat the 2017 disaster by Stephen calling him out. So unless that can be repaired ( don't think it can ) we're likely getting a p****d Dez, with an attitude and short fuse. Not to mention the issue between he and Linehan. I do agree plenty of talent still there that can help us win a lot of ball games.

Crawford signed a new deal in the Spring of 2015 that called for him to be paid $45,675,000 over the next 6 season, from 2015 thru 2020. That deal averages $7,612,500 per season, not $10M per year. The deal was based on him playing the 3-tech DT position. Because of injuries, and suspensions, Crawford was pressed into duty at DE, where he grades out as an above average Dline player, but certainly NOT high quality or Elite. Elite DE's get paid $17M per season, not $7.6M per season. Until some younger player displaces him as a starter, he may be slightly overpaid. But when you consider how he doesn't get hurt, and how much the NFL is paying for players like Hitchens, his salary is not as far out of line as you might think.

Now, do the Cowboys need an upgrade? ABSOLUTELY!! That's why they spent a 2nd round pick on Randy Gregory and a 1st round pick on Taco Charlton, and a very high 4th round pick on Charles Tapper. But to date, not one of them has been able to play as consistently good as Crawford. It's one thing to complain about Crawford. It's another to realize the Cowboys have spent 3 premium draft picks trying to upgrade him, and none of those picks has panned out...yet.

12.5mil would fill plenty of needs. There are always veteran cap casualties. Guys who can still play, but aren't living up to their contracts. Like Dez.

Cut Dez. We should have cut him last year.
 
The problem with Dez this past year was we forced the ball to him and most of the time the throws were off target because we were forcing it to him. Not forced to him when he's open, its forced when he's not open, and Dak either basically throws the ball away or forces it in there, and more then once Dez drops the ball. :(

I think the Dez we used to have isn't going to be there much anymore. On occasion sure, but you can't bet the farm on him delivering anymore.

He doesn't get 10m a season

He signed a 6/45.6m extension.....that is 7.25m a year

He is making 6m this year

At least gets your facts straight

Dak had sub par games early in the season also, Denver comes to mine 2nd game of the season.
