For those of us that aren't sold on Dak Prescott. It's a good insurance. He could be another RG3 or kapernick. I need to see a QB play for 3 seasons before I'm sold. I see a lot of people saying "we have our QB for the next decade". How can you be so sure? We better draft another QB just in case. Even if it does work out with Dak we'll need a backup.
Agree. Dak does well with competition. So it will make him play better. Most importantly I don't want to see Sanchez as the backup.

No to use a draft pick on a backup QB, I think Sanchez could manage our offense decently.

I was thinking the same until the final game... That was just so bad.

Regardless I think somehow between Moore, Sanchez and other options the Cowboys will end up with a couple backups.

What are you talking about? They're are plenty. I'm a Dak fan. But it would be idiotic to think he's going to be great after one good season. We need another QB just in case. RG3 had a better rookie year than Prescott did. We don't know anything yet. Must draft a QB just in case.

You seem to be hung on the one year thing and there are a couple of others like you, the rest are Romo lovers/Dak haters who will never like Dak 6 years from now when he's making Pro Bowls. That's about all.

There is no logical reason to think Dak is a fluke. We have other needs. If he gets in a car wreck and has brain damage and forgets how to throw a football then we can draft another QB. There is no comparison to Dak, RG3 was in a gimmcky offense and Kaep was a product of Jim Harbaugh. Stop worrying. Dak outplayed Aaron Rogers yesterday in a playoff game, he is not the problem or even close to the reason we lost.

I'm sick of the stupid comparisons, why can't someone compare Dak to Big Ben. Ben and Dak have had the two greatest regular seasons a rookie QB has ever had and Big Ben turned out ok after that. But people love to focus on the negative.

I like the idea of taking and developing back up QBs for trade bait.

But not for the reason the original poster suggests.

Dak is the real deal. If you can't see the difference between he and Kaepernick, I don't know what to tell you.

Brilliant logic.

So you draft another QB, but how are you sure he's the future? So then you better draft another guy for insurance of the guy you just drafted to protect you in case Dak's a bust....
Would have worked out great if we drafted Brady Quinn in 2007 because we werent sure about Romo.

We do need a solid backup in case Dak gets hurt, but anyone who thinks he isn't the future is doing so through willful blindness. RGIII and Kluckernick were always gimmick QB's. All run first QB's are inaccurate, worm killing, vicinity throwers.
