Rush was very solid and if we were a competitive team, he would get the call. But we are not a competitive team. We have to see what we have with Trey. Most likely it's not much, but we have to know.
I agree but you still have Dak stains who will argue, but Dak gives us the best chances to win! They are delusional as our owner/GM is.

and 4 years in and all these coaches from two different teams have seen him play, and people like you and few others think they don't know what he can do....
people do know. that's why nobody wanted to make a trade for him and give up a 5th round pick. that's why he is 3rd string behind rush who has limited talent and is 30 years old.

this guy has nothing. he can run...woohoo.... maybe we can convert him to a RB....

and needing a running QB, says more about the OL and RBs than it does about the QB
Seen him play with back ups.

That simple Simon college crap is not fooling anyone in the pros.

Really ? Simple Simon is a mobile QB ? Seems to be working in other factories around the NFL . The stoic drop back passer is becoming a relic . Dak ran yesterday more than he has in a long while too bad the hammy gave out .

Why do you hate Trey?

Did you not read the thread I created said Lance should be the # 2 and he should be used in the red zone and whenever a change in pace dictated . Before Dak went down.

Why do posters like you use the word “ hate “ it’s irrational comes off as unhinged .

What did Rush do in Atlanta that dictates passing him over to start ? The ball moved he threw a TD he did what was asked .

Oh...my apologies...on both counts. I missed your thread...hard to see all of them by everyone, yes? And I think that word should be censored here.

I love Rush...the man is so consistent under surprise playing time. A perfect backup QB. But I also feel that it would behoove us to show Lance. Your dual QB might be a good way to ease into it.

I think Lance will be the starter from here on out. For better or worse. The latter is much more likely. Buckle up guys. Get the paper bags ready. Gonna get real ugly fast.

I would love to see Lance on the field but he’s a FA next year . He’s not coming back to be a # 3 in Dallas . The Prescott contract is one of the most imbecilic contracts ever in sports .

If he can’t compete for playing time at quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys where can he compete for it?
There are always a couple teams each year with that QB black hole, sort of like the Raiders were in this year. This year who knows, there are a lot of bad teams who will be looking at QBs in the draft and someone is likely to miss out or get stuck with a guy they need to sit for a year (Giants, Browns, Jets?, Titans?, Raiders, Panthers?, Seahawks?, maybe a couple others?). I would bet someone out there would take a gamble on a brining Lance in to camp even if its a long shot type of situation. They could give him a min deal with incentives if he can actually win a job.

The other side to this is that even if he cant get a starting gig he probably is more likely to compete for a backup gig with a team like Indy, Baltimore, Washington, philly etc that already runs an offense with a lot of RPOs and designed QB runs to fit his skillset a little better.

I just don't think he stands a chance in Dallas at this point in any capacity. No one is knocking off Dak for the starting role for at least another year, likely two at minimum. You also don't want a QB like Lance as your #2 who is going to completely require a different offense if Dak goes down for a couple weeks.

Mm hasn't been nearly as bad as we think, but he's not the solution either, if that makes sense. What we need is a new set of ideas, fresh staff, a younger HC that has skins on the wall. In my opinion, nobody on our staff is the answer. AL Harris isn't the answer either. Good but not going to move the needle. He's part of the same culture. If someone forced me to hire a guy from the current staff as the next HC, I'd roll the dice on our dline coach. Jeff Zgonnia. He's got some Dan Campbell in him. He's not part of the country club culture. It's risky, but he might give us some life.
