There is absolutely no reason to play Lance other than in an emergency. We played him all preseason hoping we could unload him for a draft pick. We couldn’t. He will be a free agent soon. There is truly no reason to even want to see him this season.
Yeah I don’t get it.

People seem to think that since they spent a 4th in this past draft on him they control him for three years after this one.

He is a free agent and Prescott is signed for four more years. What would at all be the point of playing him, other than maybe reducing the chances of signing him as a backup after this year?

People insist on trying to make sense of this trade, and it was most likely nothing more than Jerry playing with his toy. Maybe some minor internal strife, and Jerry was like ‘oh yeah, watch this’

He couldn’t WAIT to tell the world that it was him all by his grown up self. What a big boy!

Either that or it was about trying to scare Prescott into taking less, which makes him look even more foolish.

Go ahead and make the case otherwise. There isn’t one.

I wanted Lance as backup and to get in games in situations . I still hope they do with Rush starting next week . Saw nothing today to bench Rush .

If Dak is out for an extended period of time, it's only a matter of time until Rush ends up with a mysterious season ending injury.

The season is over with two more losses. Time to play Lance and embrace the tank.

There was no point in trading for him unless you play him because that is what he needs the most.

If the team has even subconsciously given up on Dak right now you need to find out what you have in Lance to see if he's worth extending, or at most be pleasantly surprised, even though management gave Dak that ridiculous long-term contract everyone except his rabid lovers knew was stupid.

Because we don’t know what he can do, with the starters. He’s never had an opportunity. At least he’s mobile.
and 4 years in and all these coaches from two different teams have seen him play, and people like you and few others think they don't know what he can do....
people do know. that's why nobody wanted to make a trade for him and give up a 5th round pick. that's why he is 3rd string behind rush who has limited talent and is 30 years old.

this guy has nothing. he can run...woohoo.... maybe we can convert him to a RB....

and needing a running QB, says more about the OL and RBs than it does about the QB

Trey Lance in as starter or in garbage time would ensure that we are tanking the season for sake of the NFL Draft position.

That also means Lance in will not develop a Flornoy

Hope some folks are not holding their breath expecting Trey Lance. Y’all are going to either pass out or worse.

We already know Lance isn’t it.

He can play if they want. Not like it matters either way.
