Fitzpatrick will give you a couple of good games a year, #1 is #1 and they're #1 in almost all defensive categories so I give them credit. But I think our offense will give them some trouble and their offense will struggle to score. We just have to make sure and not turn the ball over which has been a big strength for us lately.

#1 in defense. They played Cleveland twice, the Jags and Buffalo.and beat a Steelers team that Ben was not himself. Are they really #1 in Defense. They have yet to play a top Offense like ours.

Oh spare me. We are 8-1. The team we are playing is 5-4.

Of course we could stand to lose but them losing close games means that if we get into a close game with them then we stand a better chance of winning. It's not a good thing for them.

This notion that fans are irritating if they are confident in their team just makes me think you miss the point of what a fanatic is.

If you want to be pessimistic then fine but don't forget that we are outside agencies and have little to no impact on the outcome of the game. Doubly so if you aren't going to the game.

As long as Garrett has his guys on point then I could care less if fans want to act invincible. I will take that every day and twice on Sundays over someone who is going to repeatedly point out how we might lose without providing a solution.

This post was part stumble, part fumble. At least you kept it balanced.

Did I say I had a difficult time with confident fans? Did I say our fan attitude at home impacts the game? Straw man much?

Two fumbles in one post...your turnover ratio isn't looking good.

I did say optimism that is over-worked followed by Sunday fan meltdowns annoy me....

The Cowboys are 7 point favorites so odd-makers are expecting a 1-score difference. Close games can often be determined by a late turnover, penalty, botched-penalty or just the luck of whomever has the ball last.

...ah, baffle with bull. We already grasped the message...boo hoo is more important than open. Going into the game, or discussing it.

Ain't no dang way...

The Ravens offense doesn't scare me. The Ravens D is a different story.

If we can keep one Terrell Suggs off of Dak and causing turnovers, I think we have a good chance to win tomorrow.

So we start with a meaningless characterization with the first line.

You straight up said that you found fans acting like we are sure to win irritating. It is what it is. My comment about the impact on games was a comment about the significance of what you are complaining about. You didn't say that but it is still true and if true then you are complaining about inconsequential minutiae.

Another meaningless characterization in line 3.

Your problem is that your hedging works both ways as those caveats apply to our opponent too. Betting lines are based on getting equal bets on each side and are not intended to be predictive. I don't disagree that there are a lot of Cowboys fanatics but the logical extension of that is the line should be more in favor of the Cowboys but is being counteracted by irrational fans.

Overall even 7 points is huge considering the average points produced by a team is in the middle twenties. IOW you are talking about ~30% of what a random team should be expected to score.

Ravens play in a weak division and are barely over .500. I have heard about vaunted defenses stopping our run game before but I will believe it when I see it. They perform poorly in close games and due to their poor offense they are unlikely to blow us out.

Frankly, if the team doesn't turn it over, our chances to win are very good. We average less than a turnover a game. I really like our chances.

Agreed...and their receiver group includes: Wide receivers Mike Wallace and Steve Smith...and that doesn't project fear after the quality receivers the secondary has already faced, including last week. Their starting running back for this game is not a trail blazer as well.

Wallace and smith are honestly my biggest concern. They can burn, and if nothing else flacco can throw deep and has no reservation cutting it loose

We could have easily lost a few games. It's a fine line between 8-1 and 5-4.

This is why I don't pay much attention to the 1 seed and home field right now but 8-1 should lead to the playoffs unless they completely collapse.

Wrong. I specifically said "There isn't a right or a wrong..." in optimism or pessimism but irrational exuberance combined with game-day meltdowns grates on me.

I even provided specific examples of the annoying drivel I see each week in the game threads... lest anyone misunderstand me.

Yet even with all that assistance you still couldn't hold onto the ball.

And I do notice that you are already retreating and re-framing with your protective "If we win the turnover battle..."

I'll trust Zeke to have a better grip than you've demonstrated here.

lol. Game day threads are to be avoided at all costs. Absolute nonsense. Emotional extremes from play to play. Post game threads are the best. Everything is settled and it can be debated in a slightly more reasonable environment. Sometimes.

I'll be shocked if a 37 year old SSmith can burn for 4 quarters.

As long as this defense does just enough to get by, yes, we can lose football games against even mediocre teams.

They are a slight upgrade from last year but there still is not enough of a pass rush nor enough turnovers being generated.

As long as this team is over-reliant on a young but explosive offense, there is a bit of chance involved.

Their offense is not a concern. Flacco is over rated and ordinary at best. Its the defense that could possibly derail the Cowboys. This is a tough match up and their club could hand the Còwboys a loss. Its not the end of the world..but this wiil be a tough affair.

I think someone has been watching too much NFLNetwork. If we play like we have been playing we win. Baltimore is not the best team we have faced, Maybe the best team outside of the NFL east. NFL Network tells us that Baltimore D line is better than our oline. Ok , prove it. But they are 5-4 and 3 of their wins are against Cleveland and the Jets so unless we lay an egg we should be fine.

Never mind the oddsmakers. They are only trying to generate bets and this has little to do with what team is best suited to actually win! Two completely different things.
