We drafted B.C. again

like who? mind to post some links.
Here is what a scout had to say:

"Not a bad hitter. Not a killer." and another said, "So non-physical". A 3rd indicated that he is "most decidedly a finesse linebacker".

What I meant he was projected to play inside in a 3-4 and was a top 10-15 1st round talent.

actually 4-3
Carter would have been in consideration for 4-3 teams looking for linebacker talent in the mid-first round if he hadn't torn his left ACL against rival North Carolina State in November.

Maybe he would be good in a 4-3, but as a 3-4 ILB I want someone who excels at taking on blocks and tackling. Neither of which seems to be his strong suit

What did Jerry call Bobby Carpenter? A finesse linebacker right? Not so good for a position that is based on knocking the ever loving **** out of the opposing player.

What do I keep hearing about Bruce Carter? He is a finesse linebacker who has trouble shedding blocks and misses tackles.

After missing on Carpenter you'd think Jerry would learn not to draft these kinds linebackers. Can't teach an old dog new tricks I guess...

Carter brings disruptive speed.

Carpenter was quick too, but only when he was going backwards. Which was pretty often.

For what it's worth, Wes Bunting said on the radio yesterday that he talked to the guy who washes the jerseys at North Carolina and he liked Carter because his jersey was never dirty.

As a former safety (early in his college career), I think he is more of a finesse LB, but not a puss like Carpenter. This guy is a lot faster and more disruptive.

It will be interesting to see how he can convert to an ILB in a 3-4. He has migrated a long way from safety.

Kevin Burnett was also a former safety.

Ok... So we finally get a linebacker with the ability needed to get the defense off the field on 3rd downs, keep the defense fresh, and give the offense more opportunities, and people still complain???

This guy looks like a very similar player. He may even be bigger and faster than Burnett.

Burnett's role is one that they haven't been able to fill since he left, so I expect Carter to do that once he's healthy. Then maybe take over for Brooking or James in 2012.

:(

FWIW, Broaddus is on right now and he says his only problem with Carter is that he looks great getting to the ball, but all too often he doesn't wrap up and make the play, for whatever reason.

Still... Bobby Carp? That's harsh to the point of libelous. There's no way this guy won't be better than that.

The draft always brings the termites out of the woodwork.

Hopefully, Rob Ryan's LB coach, whom he says is the best in the world, will teach him how to finish.

you can't teach toughness. That is just part of your character or it isn't.

Another person blindly commenting on a player they apparently have never watched. Shocking!

why even draft? all of our picks suck and will always suck.
(that's what i read on here anyway)

After watching some of his highlight videos, I have to agree with you a little bit. There is a little bit of Barbie is the way this guy plays. He is a little faster and better in coverage I think but he doesn't stick his nose in there and he's nothing like Bradie James and doesn't seem as aggressive a tackler as even Kevin Burnett.

So you think our recent drafts have been good?
