Pay no attention to the criticism of value and sacks and all that is coming. The Cowboys finally have added a real powerful bleepkicking DT who will not be bullied. A tone setter that will do all the dirty work to free up his teammates. There's a reason why Micah Parsons was so excited for the pick.

Oh and he's not just a NT. The tools are there to develop as a rusher. He moves better than his size. He's quick. He's got great feet for a big man. Dan Quinn has a lot to work with.

This is a radical shift in philosophy that I think we all should applaud.

The Cowboys will get mediocre grades for this selection and those grades will be wrong. He is exactly what we needed on defense, and as my 25th ranked player on my board I can say without any bias that he's value at the pick.

Well done. Thank you. I don't think I could have gone another season without a real DT. Now, for the love of God, don't crap the bed in round 2.

I haven’t seen any lower grade than a B+, most are all A’s

The post draft presser was interesting. You could feel the tension between Maccarthy and the Jones's.
Think it was more between McCarthy and McClay.....and Jerry/Stephen caught in the middle. Mike wanted offense...Can't blame him. But the more you think about it....Mazi may not be a bad pick. If your being honest ...could you really expect Hankins to hold up for the entire season by himself? Now he has help....

I dont like his 4 point stance. No wonder he doesn't make many plays in the backfield. Nevertheless, this fills a major need for our defense and he looks like he has the tools to develop into an above average DT.

Don't know where this talk of tension is coming from, Mike M seemed pumped. Like McClay said, Mike has wanted to get the team bigger and stronger since he got here. Plus Mike said he loved Mazi's 30 visit, loved everything about him.

Jerry admitted in years past they wouldn't have made this kind of pick in the first round.

What’s your speculation on what the tension was about?

When the Cowboys were on the clock there was a debate going between MM and the others including Will.

Just a guess but I bet MM wanted the TE here and they talked it over and voted for Mazi instead.

IF it is true they like LaPorta, they probably made an argument that he might fall to them at 58 but mazi would not,

Later KC called the cowboys and said that if they had not picked Mazi, they would. That was actually the player they, KC, were trying to trade up to take.

that is terrible.what are they doing with him with that stance.his good trait is quickness off the ball and we NEVER see any of that because of that stupid stance.Harbaugh is just weird man.
