We Had a Spammer 04/13 But He Has Been Executed

I opened the PM, but not the link. Pretty suspicious when you've been a member 5 minutes, have zero posts and you've already been banned.

Hos, how many members can be PMed simultaneously? 25- 50 max?
Good question. I think I'll do a little research on that.

Ok, admit it.

How many actually got their hopes up that someone was sending them a PM regarding one of their well thought-out posts?

Oh wait, wrong board, sorry. ;)

I have not read much lately because of my computer studies, but I just now got a provate message from natual36dd...!!!  What was that all about?????

:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

I thought you could only do one PM at a time for most members.

Oh well. Knowing that the link could be bad, I asked to use my neighbors laptop and opened it from there. Serves him right for letting his kids play in my freshly-planted garden.

I never had you pegged as a horticulturist. Got any peppers? Send 'em my way!

Well, when I say planted a garden, I meant my wife. I bought the hoe though (the tool, not the wife).

Crap, she saw me write this. Guess it's Spaghetti O's for dinner again.

Because so many of us appeared to get the Spam PM at the same time, I conducted a little experiment. I went to the main page, scrolled down, copied the entire group of members presently on line, then clicked one member and pasted over a hundred members into the recipients field of a PM. It seemed to format the members properly to be able to send hundreds of PM's at the same time.

Don't know if the Spammer was able to do that successfully the first time though.

It probably won't be known for several days as to how many Spam they were able to send during the brief few minutes they were on the board.

If anyone is able to send more than a hand full of PM's at a time, this might be a good time to modify the board software to minimize those capabilities.

My wife is asking me why I am laughing.

Not going to join you for dinner.

The spammer was probably an Eagles fan.

Not so sure. Most of the words were spelled correctly and I don't think it was man on man action.

Well played!

Fortunately, I had reached my 100 messages limit and couldn't add another PM.

That gave me time to delete some PMs so I could receive message.

Of course, with the monicker Natural36DD you had to expect something wasn't on the cup and cup, er, I mean, up and up.: :)

Nope this looser has been trolling around, he hit MTBR.com a mountain bike forum I frequent last month. He/she/it used the same user name there as well.

I've always wondered...

I get all these e-mails about Viagra and Cialis and stuff. I just wonder....how do they know?

:D

Y'all do a great job keeping this site clear of this nonsense. You are much appreciated.
