IMO IT’S THE SINGLE BIGGEST ISSUE we have. We need two starters because Clark blows and the. Other is a 205 lb guy playing LB. We also need speed at S and help at DT.
Spot on. DT, MLB, and FS. Need major talent at those 3 positions. Our D would jump into the top 5 easily as we do have a ton of talent on D.

I heard on this forum it's all Dak's fault.

Dak was too happy after throwing a touchdown after the lead. He got Damone Clark so fired up, Clark grabbed a facemask on the last drive and helped Miami get in position for the winning kick.

It's true. I read it here last night.

Bland has been a pleasant surprise. But Joseph, Nashon Wright, Mukuama, Reggie Robinson all duds/busts. Scott has been inactive/invisible so far.

It’s also no wonder why we have no depth at OL. Ball, Waletzki, Farniok have shown nothing. Prior to that McGovern was a dud. Connor Williams was so-so but now long gone. Steele is rough yet still managed an extension. Richards is another rookie unknown. Can’t sustain only using 1sts on OL but that’s the only way we can get a quality starter.
Connor Williams is a top 10 Center. So is Mitch Morse. I think McGovern is playing well for BUFF. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have the same questions and confusion to wth is DQ doing with these Ss?
We don't have a true FS/centerfielder/ballhawk type. All our S's are of the same ilk, big hitter types who can cover OK. Need a coverage S.

Unfortunately our brain trust played Williams at OG and he was just OK. McGovern wasn’t good here. But glad we could have them reach their potential elsewhere.

we just re-signed two starters at safety (hooker and Wilson) .. i highly doubt they go anywhere soon.

Linebackers are a need but LBs are only as good as who is playing DLine so they don’t have to take on the blockers.

Better DLine in the run game = better linebacker play.
We need Thumpers at LB to compliment the light and speedy d line. We desperately need coaching on tackling.

LB is a major off-season priority.

Problem is outside of Patrick Queen or Devin White, I don't see a lot of quality in free agency. And we all know the Cowboys are scared poopless of premium free agents.

The draft doesn't look great either. Payton Wilson (NC State) is older (turns 24 just before the draft) and has had some injuries (two knees and a shoulder), but he reminds me of Fred Warner. I really like Ty'Ron Hopper from Missouri but he's under 225 lbs.
Shairr or however you spell it. Dude was a beast in SF

Probably could be pretty damn great at LB. Can cover, can blitz, can pursue and tackle all at a high level.

Was good as a rookie playing LB. Sky's the limit for what he could be at LB if we played him there.

At the combine ran a 4.36 at 235. And he's not just a straight line runner.

Parsons is a superfreak. I bet he could be play 5 or 6 positions.
Physically he is great but he had some mental issues diagnosing plays at LB. He does need more reps there. He needs to be at LB more with a focus on stopping the runner on early downs then move to DE in passing situations. With more reps, more film study he will be fine but for some reason DQ keeps him at DE.

It’s unfortunate that Diggs was injured. I think the safeties we have fit with the Diggs, Gilly, and Bland secondary. We need a Reader type at DT and big defensive end that can play both end/tackle. Move Parsons around depending on the formations.

A healthy Overshown at off ball linebacker with Bell replacing Kearse as the 3rd safety with Clark at the Mike sounds promising to me.
Nothing that includes Clark is promising. The guy can't process fast enough.

He did? Hadn't heard that. His scouting report said the opposite, concerning instincts. Hmmmmmmmmm

Same brain trust that wasted years of Byron Jones at FS when the guy was a shutdown corner.

He was ok at LB. Maybe it was just being a rookie. Maybe I expect too much from the guy who has an elite passrush.

The problem isn’t that he sucks - or that he’s a weak link - or that he’s cfl slow we all can see that.

The problem is McCarthy jones and Quinn think he’s part of a winning equation..
You do know there are ZERO other LB’s on the roster right?

They make do with what they have. We lost two starting level LBs. it’s a spot we need to address in the off season for sure.

Not sure the coaches have many options at this point.

If you’re a pro bowl level LB looking for work, you should head up to Frisco tomorrow
