The 9ers have way less talent than the Cowboys.
that’s pretty funny right there

Maybe the main reason of the team being mediocre is the style of management. It was and still very dysfunctional.
The team should be run like an army unit not a cruise ship.
It's always been the Garrett legacy.
The meaningless wins while losing the games that actually count. How many 'win and you're in' games did that clown gack up? Conversely, how many meaningless 'wins' has he given us? I know we had one against those same Commanders in 2015 during a 4-12 season that did nothing but knock us out of the #2 overall pick. Then we got another one in 2017 in week 17 against an Eagles team that rested its starters before going on to win the Super Bowl. Anyone else remember that awesome 6-0 'win'? Good times, good times. It gave a mediocre coach a 'winning season' and once again hurt this team's draft standing.
And this year? Choke up the division and hand it to the Eagles. but win the next week when it no longer matters.
The Jason Garrett Legacy. Enjoy it Garrett fans.
We don’t play in the weak AFC and specifically the AFCE and we seem to hover at around 8 and 8. We have to bite, scratch and claw our way there and don’t ever have the horses to get over the hump.
For where we are drafting McClay is doing a good job. But let’s look, for comparison’s sake at SF who is probably the best team in the NFC this year.
2019: Drafted 2nd overall - Nick Bosa
2018: Drafted 9th: Mike McGlinchy
2017: Drafted 3rd. Overall : Solomon Thomas
That defense is stout for a reason and the running game is good because of the blocking
On top of that they were GIFTED a groomed QB by The Hoodie for a mere second round pick.
It’s no wonder they are the best in the NFL this year.
We dropped about 5 draft spots because we beat the Skins. In doing so did we not only drop 5 spots, we also ensured the Skins the 2nd overall pick and you can bet that one is going to haunt us for the next 7 years or so.
Solomon Thomas is a backup who plays fewer than half the team's snaps.
The run game is good b/c of Shanahan.

Never stopped the Patriots. We have a hard time getting to the SB because of draft position

The NFCE is every bit as "bad" as the AFCE. If the Patriots were a bumbling 8-8 or 9-7 team like Dallas and Philly over the past decade, the two division would likely be identical.
No. It’s not even close.

I think your part about constantly drafting middle of the pack makes sense in terms of not getting those high picks with blue chip players almost guaranteed to fall into your lap.
The other part about the skins though? Listen no one wants to fall down in the draft, me included, but what was the option there? Losing because we dont want the skins drafting a better player would never ever happen. Teams tanking for their own good pick is one thing but trying to lose so someone else doesnt pick a better player? How do you play the game with the message that hey we gotta lose so the skins dont get too good of a player? Ideally they never get great players but the draft isn't always guaranteed. When they got RG3 I think alot of people said we are gonna be dealing with a nightmare for a long time to come. Didnt exactly work out that way.
well there’s your misguided belief and then there’s how much each had won over the past decade.
The AFC has been consistently worse than the NFC for years on average. The AFC East has been perennially bad.
We wasted our Dak rookie contract window under Garrett.
Our only hope is McCarthy and the Packers identifying him as the problem and going to the NFC championship the following year doesn't give me a lot of confidence.
