Dez is w/o a doubt the 2nd best WR in the NFL. He's uncoverable, Romo doesn't throw the deep ball well at his later age.
Romo's throws of 20+ yards in the air, 2013
to Dez

6 of 23 243 yd 1 td 1 int 67.5
to everyone else

15 of 33 452 yd 7 td 0 int 131.6

Don't mind being top 5 offense as long as it translates to victories. Having a top offense will do nothing if you can't turn it in to victories. I just want a complete team that moves the ball, not a lot of stalled drives, and can stop someone.

DEz is the best WR not named MEgatron;

Dez has the potential to be the best WR in the league not named Megatron....

His production, while very good, hasn't quite put in him in the "2nd best in the NFL" category yet in my mind.

I don't see where the offense will be any different than last year. There was no weapons added and one position on the oline is the only upgrade.

NAw the starters aren't bad at all: Spencer, Melton, DL, Crawford. LB's: Carter, Lee, Wilber/Durant. Secondary: Carr, Mo Clay, Scandrick, Wilcox and Church.

Spencer may not even be around to play this year. It's very doubtful he is available to even start the season. At this point, Crawford is not even being viewed as a starter. He's being viewed as a rotation guy at DT and DE.

Are you crazy? San Francisco in no universe has a better offense than us, thier WR aren't beast mode all they have is a running game. Chicago may be a toss-up because B. Marshall and Alshon Jeffrey are crazy good as well as Matt Forte. Seattle is known for defense not offense, their offense damn sure is not better than ours. Green Bay is another toss-up because they have 3 super good recievers. Philly??? LMAO gtfoh outta here, our last place defense put the clamps on that "deadly" offense twice. New Orleans okay yeah maybe the Saints. New England as well is another toss-up. And Detroit is a toss-up. So from that list 2 are flat out better than us. 3 of them damn sure are not, and the other 4 are a toss-up with us.

San Fran and Seattle are two perfect examples of offenses where the old quote "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" applies perfectly.

I'll agree that Dez is better than any receiver on either Seattle or San Fran by quite a wide margin. But collectively, their receivers are better than Dez. Boldin and Crabtree are not as flashy, nor do they make ridiculous circus catches but they make tough catches and are good possession guys who move the chains.

San Fran has a top 10 offensive line and a beast of an athlete in Vernon Davis, and obviously Frank Gore keeps the chains moving. Kapernick can make plays with both his feet and arm. In fact, they are the offense that I wish we could emulate the most - a strong, ball control team who keeps the chains moving and their defense off the field.

To say Seattle's offense isn't good just because they're known for defense isn't a very good argument. Again, similar to San Fran - they have a mobile QB, a strong running game, and a stable of good, not great receivers who can all make plays at any given moment and don't rely on one guy to do it all for them.

To me, we just have a bunch of flashy toys on our offense without the same kind of chemistry that those teams have. I'm not saying we don't have the potential, but this team doesn't utilize it's talent in the proper way.

It will be nice, but in truth I want to see better in-game decisions before I get all excited. If they are crushing teams with the run, it will be pretty cool if they just stick with it this season.

Replace him wiht Selvie and Crawford will take a big leap this year. The talent is there, it's about stayiing healthy.

Selvie is not a starting DE IMO. He's a rotational player as well and in the NFL, nobody stays healthy. Everybody plays hurt, if you can play. That's just how it works.

We got Selvie off the street and Crawford has done nothing yet, you must really like Kool-Aid. What is your favorite flavor?

I agree but not all injuries are season ending which we seemed to have a lot even at the start of camp with Crawford, Spencer plays then he is gone for the year. Rat they were expected him back gone for the year and cut loose. Lee plays half the season gone for the rest of the year. Injury yeah everyone gets them but if your lucky these teams start getting players back as the season progresses.

I agree but the earlier post was in response to who the poster felt would be good starters, or at least that how I read it.

I do agree with your assesment of Selvie whom I like very much but I see him long term as more of a rotational guy than a starte.taking the majority of the snaps. I love the motor the guy has and the effort he puts in but not conviced he will be a longer term solution.

We were top 4 in points per drive, which translates into 11 wins -- for a team with an average defense.
