I dont think the schedule was soft at all last year. It was actually pretty difficult. That is the first time they have made the playoffs when playing the afc North/Central since 1994.

Trips to Pittsburgh, Green Bay and the East teams plus Baltimore and a good detroit team at home was difficult.

I think we were fortunate to catch Pittsburgh at the right time last year and Detroit wasn't all that, either. Compared to the schedule we'll be facing this year, it seems to me that last year's schedule pales in comparison to what we'll be facing this time around. We should still be fine, though.

Just winning the NFC East back to back would be a great achievement for me with this Defense which we havent done in like 20 years.

One one hand, I can't blame anyone for "dissing" the Cowboys. When was the last time we had back to back winning seasons? 2008-2009. It's hard to argue against that. The Cowboys have been the definition of mediocrity and chokers for 2 decades now.

On the other hand, I personally think this team is much different than years past and we will finally put together a team that can put several consecutive back to back winning seasons. I still think we win the NFCE this year by at least 2 games and have a minimum of 10 wins.

Garrett being ranked 12th as a head coach is a very valid ranking. BTB tend to be homers so it's no shock they would have an issue with that.

The fact Garrett was coach of the year is largely a meaningless fact. Tyrone Willingham won national coach of the year at Notre Dame and he was a boob of a head coach.

I think their primary issue was the 17th ranking from a guy who said they went 12-4.

He is middling. Ranking a HC shouldn't be "what have you done for me lately" On one hand he has 2 12+ win seasons in 3 years. One with a rookie QB. That can be ignored. On the other he has 2 winning seasons and 1 playoff win in 6 years. Another 11+ win season and some playoff success next year and he should move up, but right now 10-12 seems very fair to me

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has been largely successful at spreading the idea that the Cowboys are forever "an accident waiting to happen". There is nothing I like about that dude. I hate his network, I hate preference in all sports teams and I hate his politics. I have full faith that my Cowboys will have a season very soon that proves that talking head to be wrong.

Pretty much, we are.

Postseason failure after postseason failure.

Last year we were the #1 seed. And lost without winning a single playoff game. Again.

I live smack dab in the middle of eagles, giants, steelers territory in NE Penna....so, stuff like this doesn't take a minute of my time...I like to spend my time telling fans of those 3 teams how much they suck (them, not the teams), so I am good...

It is not uncommon for fan bases to feel like their favorite team just doesn’t get any respect. That is certainly true for those of us who follow the Dallas Cowboys. Most of the time, you really just have to write it off as a bit of homerism and the natural defensiveness that comes when you see the team you are so invested in getting criticized.

But over the past few weeks, some things have shown up out there in the interwebs that certainly make it seem that the Cowboys are getting absolutely disrespected. It just isn’t the lack of regard exhibited. It is how recent accomplishments - as in from last season - are completely dismissed.

If it was just one or two isolated things, that would be one thing. But there is a pattern here that all seems to come back to one conclusion: A lot of people think last year was purely a fluke for the Cowboys, and will basically be nearly impossible for them to duplicate.

The most recent bit of evidence is also the most egregious: Pete Prisco’s ranking of all 32 NFL head coaches for CBS Sports. He ranked Jason Garrett at 17th in the league, with this write up.
