We've all expected Tampa Bay to win the NFC South. For the whole year that's been the assumption. This would, based on seeding rules, place Dallas in Tampa Bay for round 1.

But wait. If the Carolina Panthers beat the Bucs this Sunday, and win out against the Saints in their last game...we will start the playoffs with a game in Carolina.

No problem, right? I mighta thought so until Carolina crushed Detroit Sunday, with 320 rushing yards at 7.4 yards per clip.

Panthers also ran for 223 yards earlier this month versus Seattle. ( Before we all completely freak out, it should also be pointed out that on Dec 18 versus Pittsburgh those same Panthers were kittens, 16 carries for 21 yards. )

My opinion: we gonna beat either Bucs or the Panthers. Just might not be easy.
How did you post this mess with a straight face? Do you really think the Panthers are dangerous because they beat the Lions and Seahawks?

I don’t see anything worse than having to go to Tampa to face Tom Brady. He would absolutely shred the defense we have now! We’re giving up almost 35 points a game the last three games and have zero pass rush. We just allowed a backup QB who we couldn’t even sack to put up 355 yards and 2 TDs. We need multiple turnovers to win games and get opponents off the field. If the Cowboys were to build a lead on Tampa, Brady will bring them back. We’ve already blown a 14 point and a 17 point lead. Dan Quinn knows all about blowing big leads to Tom Brady.

It would be fitting. Carolina is where this franchise lost its luster initially.

You just have to outscore them.... It's crazy to think you have to score a minimum of 35 points a game to have a chance of winning, but that's what it is.

Well, thank our defencive genus Quinn.

I would rather face the eagles than Tom Brady,he knows how to win against us.he gets the ball out in 2 seconds which neutralizes our pass rush.

yeah, I thought about that too. they are 4-2 in their last 6 games. if they win out, they would have gone 6-2 in their last 8.....that would be considered a hot team going into playoffs.

and yes, their rushing attack is scary.

I'd rather face Sam Darnold over Tom Brady, even if the Panthers are the better team
The Bucs are decimated with injuries (especially their line)...a shell of themselves.
Not nearly as destroyed as the Rams but still really bad.

But Brady in Tampa with his WR group and a respectable defense? I'd rather face the Panthers too.

fwiw, I think Dallas will beat either team they face. Its the next round where things could get rough.

It’s the playoffs. Nothing is easy.

Plotting to line up the easier opponent is an exercise in futility. The Cowboys lost to 3 sub 500 teams this year. The opponents are all tough.

We’ll find a way to lose to either. Rather it be the Panthers rushing attack or Brady carving us up per usual.
