damn that's pretty cool...

the 1984 game against the patriots...

michael downs was such a great ballhawk ..sure tackler for us.

had a pick six to set the tone.

And those were super bowl years for the Boys...

Sure was. The team showed the league that they didn't need the so called advantage of playing on Thanksgiving to be good. It is funny how no one ever complains about the Lions playing on Thanksgiving.

That's awesome! Which was your favorite? Mine was 1974! Longley to Pearson!

It was great but I have to say I was in awe of Texas Stadium when I 1st walked in and saw the stadium. Not even todays stadium made my jaw drop as Texas Stadium did. I was much younger and did not take as much to impress me. lol

I felt the exact same way the first time I walked into Texas Stadium. I told my brother to pinch me so I'd know it was real.

Wow, Doom -- you have new-found respect.

What happened in '75 and '77? Wife in labor? Wreck on the way to the stadium?

Dude! you need to learn how to cook. Amazing tradition!
My big family travels in every year and we have a few Commanders and a few Cowboys at our party of approximately 50 relatives. I love to hear that you go to these games!

We stay at nice hotels and the Thanksgiving Day dinner is great with everything you could want an more. At halftime of the Lions game we are out the door and headed to the stadium.

Dallas did not have the game in those 2 seasons.

The NFL asked for volunteers from the other teams to replace Dallas as a Thanksgiving Day host, at least on a trail basis. The St. Louis Cardinals were chosen to host the game every other year. The Cardinals were in the NFC East Division with the Cowboys and the loudest complainer about the unfair advantage the Thanksgiving Day tradition was giving Dallas.
So St. Louis hosted the 1975 and 1977 and were also the visiting team when Dallas hosted the game in 1976.
But the games hosted by St. Louis didn't work out well for the league, or the Cardinals. The TV ratings of the games without Dallas dropped dramatically. CBS begged the NFL to put the Cowboys back as host.

I have a lot of them but I guess it was 94 vs Packers. GB fans at the game where feeling very good about their chances to win as Aikman and Pete were both out of the game. Jason Garrett who looked poor in the 1st half lit them up in the 2nd half as Dallas won and I got the last laugh on some pretty sorry GB fans. lol

Interesting bit of lore.

And then the Cardinals moved to Phoenix, and the Rams moved to St. Louis, and the Rams are now considered front-runners to move back to LA.

I guess that would prove that St. Louis is mostly a baseball town.

I hate to see teams move to begin with Baltimore should be the Colts, St Louis the Cardinals, LA Rams, Houston Oilers. I hate change. lol

It was a crazy game.

Cowboys were losing 17-6 at halftime. Came back to score 36 points in a incredible 2nd half comeback led by none other than JG himself.

Interwoven into the whole thing Sterling Sharpe caught a TD pass in every quarter of the game.

Drive Thursday Morning from Houston to Dallas. To Embassy Suites in Irvin

Cardinals and/or Giants would be most likely.

We just took NYG's best punch, played an ok game , and won by 10. IMO, the Giants just aren't good enough to beat this Dallas team if we play well, in any venue.
