Exactly.. every defense in the NFL starts the game out overplaying the run to try to make the opposing offense one-dimensional. The minute they get you into pass-pass-pass mode they got you right where they want you. Norv and then Zampese were great about being stubborn with the run. It didn't matter how many times they held Emmitt to 10 carries for 19 yards in the first half they made damn sure Emmitt got 10-12 more carries (usually for a lot more yards) in second half. Now they generally had a good enough defense to keep things close and a good enough passing attack even to have a lead a lot of the time. Up until these last two seasons this version of the Cowboys certainly have not had the former.. but when Moore has been able to push the right buttons with Dak we've had more than enough of the latter. We just can't fall in love with it to the exclusion of running the ball. Stay balanced... keep running it.. eventually the dam will break.. and even if it doesn't, forcing the defense to honor the run aids in the passing game. Like I always say, it aint rocket surgery.
