Amongst the Wrs in the league with the top separation in week one?

Cooks was 5th. He's still very fast, with short area quickness.

- We have two WRs with legit 4.3 speed in Cooks and Turpin ... But let's face it. this McCarthy Tex Coast is not schemed for speed.
It seems more schemed for possession game and selected run after catch per Lamb.

- Once every blue moon, we'll see a fly go from Turpin ala Niners ,Washington Thankgiving game .. but otherwise we'll see
Dak constantly over-throwing a upfield vertical Cooks - Prescott just cannot seem to connect with him, despite the separation. by Cooks.
we don't see the over the top of defenses deep go-fly bombs from Dak to Cook that i'd thought for sure

- With their great speed and open field run skills, you would think we'd see much more jet-sweeps from Turpin and Cooks, than what we see
from the slower Lamb.

- We seem to play and scheme Cooks as if he is a possession WR, a slot guy, ..and that's not his game, we don't need running power slants.
That's not what we traded for him for/to be.

- As a speed oriented, vertical deep threat- you'd like to envision/scheme him as Desean Jackson ..Tyler Lockett... Terry McLaurin...
Jameson Williams ....Jaylen Waddle.,etc....
- Not like Hunter Renfrow, Adam Theilen, etc.

Yeah Tyreek Hill was clocked at his combine at 4.29 compared to Cooks 4.33. Cooks hasn't retained his speed and definitely doesn't look like HIll on the field against defenders.

They were only drafted two years apart.
We don't scheme him for his speed,... we scheme him more as a possession receiver.

As a result we don't see the speed- splash skill set he possesses, thus some think he is no longer a speedy WR.

We cannot even connect with him on deep fly go's when he separates deep ... overthrow him every time.

Looking at these other contenders such as Detroit and Kansas City. They all have speed at wide receiver and running back. We have absolutely none. Needs to be addressed ASAP. Can’t win playoff with the lack of speed we have.
We have one of the fastest wr in the league, speed is not the problem, getting the ball to them is.

Yeah I don't think speed is the problem. Using the speedsters appropriately and getting them the ball is the issue.

Deuce looked pretty fast on that Turpin punt return touchdown, but we'd rather throw screens and swing passes to Zeke. Granted, I think I read that Turpin didn't even reached top speed on that return.

who we don't often use to get the best out of him to show that speed

Would love to see Turp and Deuce mixed in more
I would also , what do you do about the confidence level? The quarterback has in him when he hit him right smack in the middle of the chest and he drops the ball.

You take what the defense gives you . If you have the time I agree, put it downfield. But dink and dunk is what scores points and wins football games Clock manager.

No doubt we have to upgrade both positions, but don't agree with the need for more speed. Cooks still is an elite burner in this league.

Independent of the names you did/didn't include on this list - Do you genuinely believe that Cooks runs a 4.3 right now?

Dallas' offense is painfully slow and lacks separators. It was as true yesterday as it was last year.
Wait a minute, cannot you say the same about everyone else? I just don't get you naysayers.

Say what? I'm not the one who brought up 40 times - I don't think they're relevant more than a year or two after a player is in the league.

But no - Detroit, GB, SF all have more speed at the skill positions and, as a byproduct, a greater depth of players who can create big plays.

DET - St. Brown, Williams, Gibbs
GB - Watson, Reed, Doubs
SF - CMC, Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle

CD is the best playmaker among this group, sure, but after that, Cooks and Ferg rank after all of these guys as far as big play capability.

It's not being a naysayer, the lack of investment in speed and depth at skill positions is the Cowboys' greatest flaw and it has been for years because they have little margin for error and few ways to attack opponents.
