We need more speed at wide receiver and running back

I disagree with the needs outlined in the OP.
The only needs I see are o and d line for when we have injuries, which we will. They need to keep churning to make sure we have the best possible O and D linemen available.

Good lines means our speed is just fine. If the lines break down, then all the speed in the world won’t make a bit of difference.

We have plenty of speed at WR ........ just not someone to get it in their hands.

We just need better RB's

I think we need another playmaker on offense besides Lamb, defenses will bracket him and dare Dak to beat them with other guys and then he'll force it to 88 and the ints will start stacking again.

Ferg is a tough guy but if Stephens could become a treath or maybe a trade for a younger back, IDK, I like Cooks too, but I feel we need a more dangerous deep treath to open things up.

IDK is a work in progress, 16 games left, hopefully more.

We have speed at wide receiver if you count Turpin.
Which is iffy, though he has been productive per target
kinda funny after all the "per target" talk about him and the table banging to get him more involved he dropped his lone target lol. i do hope they incorporate him more though.

I am not a fan of both Jalens,to me we are not putting a potential great WR threat with great speed and athleticism in Flournoy on the active Roster.

Oftentimes, quickness makes up for the lack of great speed. Deuce has quickness in spades. It's not like he isn't gifted with that for his strength.

Say what? I'm not the one who brought up 40 times - I don't think they're relevant more than a year or two after a player is in the league.

But no - Detroit, GB, SF all have more speed at the skill positions and, as a byproduct, a greater depth of players who can create big plays.

DET - St. Brown, Williams, Gibbs
GB - Watson, Reed, Doubs
SF - CMC, Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle

CD is the best playmaker among this group, sure, but after that, Cooks and Ferg rank after all of these guys as far as big play capability.

It's not being a naysayer, the lack of investment in speed and depth at skill positions is the Cowboys' greatest flaw and it has been for years because they have little margin for error and few ways to attack opponents.
What you say may be true, but you did pinpoint his speed not being the same, which if true, should go for everyone else.

Ok? The point is that Cooks is not at all a 4.3 guy, and certainly doesn't play faster than the other guys on the list right now.

He dropped one pass. How many were dropped by others?

He is not used the same. Look at how other teams scheme their receivers. Dallas does not go long, but maybe once or twice a game. Why would you need speed for intermediate routes.

man if it wasn't their hands that the ball went to last year who the hell had 4k recieving yards last year? I mean that seems like alot of yards to WR that can not get the ball in thier hands...

didnt he only have one target? when I said kinda funny, I meant literally. Not some kind of pot shot at you or him. Just one of those Cowboyisms.

Totally agree. We don't really value speed. Especially at RB. Heck I don't think we value Running Backs. Unless it's a glaring issue, the FO will wait till the very last minute to address it.
Problem is, when you draft a "speedy" RB, he's only such for two or three years. Remember when Zeke had breakaway speed? Pollard? Emmitt?

RBs are becoming something of a fungible commodity in this league. The theory (seemingly) being that if you build a superior O-line, any JAG can run through it.

They don't go long because they don't have anybody who can get open long...because they don't have any speed lol

Also, you need speed for intermediate routes to turn them into big plays AND you need vertical speed to pull safeties and open them up to begin with.

"Why do you need speed" is a pretty silly question.

True Turpin should be doing this, motion into slot fly, release wheels and such it would pull the saftey.

Looking at these other contenders such as Detroit and Kansas City. They all have speed at wide receiver and running back. We have absolutely none. Needs to be addressed ASAP. Can’t win playoff with the lack of speed we have.
Absolutely!

How about we make a hole do rbs can get some speed up.

Those other guys you watched.....untouched.

By the way 4 FG’s and a Turpin TD ( that man has speed ) ….offense left a lot on the dinner table not cashed in . Yes Cleveland at home and has above avg D . Hopefully Dak and co at home punch it in more often against the Saints .
No zeke td?
