Sarge you may be right I may be pathetic. I may be spoiled from watching the Cowboys lead by Roger with Drew and Troy with Irvin. Not to mention the RB that played with them. This years team just drives me nuts. I don't know if it's the play calling or what. I just know that everytime we get into the red zone I'm hoping for a score not counting on it. We can't even count on a chip shot field goal. So this year Parcells put the D together, next I hope he puts the O together. Can you honestly say that this years team can beat the Colts.

Peace

I can honestly say 2 things.

I don't think we'd fair well against the Colts.

I am not even remotely close to writing this year off.

Lastly, I don't think you are pathetic, but I do think your statement ("I'm writing this year off") was.

I'm a true fan . I count success by the 5 Super Bowl victorys that Dallas has won. Those have been the successful years of the Cowboys. Not the two loses to Pitts. or the one to the Colts. I do see the highlights of the catch by Clark and say well at least Dallas made NFC championship game that year. So I don't see taking the second best team to over time as a " moral victory". I see it as a loss and that if we can't beat the second best we can't beat the best. I bet if you ask Parcells if he's happy about coming close to beating the second best team he would tell you the same thing.
Now T.O. may be a cancer but like I said if Parcells brings him in, everything would be fine. Now to all of you calling T.O. selfish, I guess you don't remember Irvin coming out of Miami. Irvin didn't change until he came back from the knee injury and Jimmy came to town.

That's right Pops - a 'true fan' doesn't 'give up on the year' when their team is a 1/2 game out of first place and by Sunday, might even BE in first place.

If you cant be happy with the way this year is going compared to last year, you must be really hard to be around. We wont win the SB every year..? thats absurd, lighten up, you arent the coach and you dont sound cool talking like you are......if we won the SB BP would find something wrong with it...........thats why hes a good coach, you act like we suck, and you should rethink the way you say things if thats not what you are implying!

With the way Parcells calls games it wouldn't matter if we had T.O. or not.

We haven't lost a game by more than 3 points.

This is a young team.

This year is far from over.

Terry Glenn is a fine receiver for us, but Terry Glenn isn't near the consistent dominant game-changing playmaker T.O. is when he is on the field.

I'm not saying I want T.O. because I'm leaving that up to Parcells, but T.O. keeps defensive coordinaters up at night, Terry Glenn doesn't.

If you're saying Glenn is not the best WR in the game...fine. And, yes, TO does keep defenses focused on him. That why the Eagles brought him in. He's also a selfish, angry, classless, CANCER.

And THAT is why the Eagles kicked his sorry butt out.

Sorry, but there isn't a player in the game of football that I'd rather be a Cowboy LESS than Owens.

You know. As a long-time Cowboys fan, this viewpoint really sickens me dearly. Being "second best" in the National Football League multiple times is nothing to be ashamed of. It should be respected. Reaching the NFC championship games three straight years is nothing to be ashamed of. It should be respected. No NFL franchise is guaranteed to win Lombardi trophies. They are earned. No NFL franchise is guaranteed to even compete for possible Super Bowl berths.

Losing in Super Bowls or conference championship games means that your team has done more than most other teams. If that's not a definition of success, I don't know what is.

Vinny T?? Jose Cortez?? Any kicker worse than Cundiff?? What about Joey Harrington, lol, there are tons that I'd take after TO........we need a lot of work, but not at WR......more o-line than nething

While the Colts may look like the best in the NFL, ANYTHING can happen. You dont have to be a Dallas fan to know that. Writing off a team at 7-4, and in a battle for the NFC East crown, doesnt make sense.

I wont even comment on T.O.

I would have run outside the tackles a little more often.

I would not have run that flat pass to Glenn that we'd run 5x before (and that he dropped. Even if he hadn't, the DB jumped the pattern and wouldv'e intercepted it had it not been 2 yards behind Glenn).

I would've run a few plays (reverse, sweep, HB option pass - anything!) to keep Denver out of the box a little more.

I would've thrown the ball as far downfield as I could've before halftime and before the end of the game to see if we might've picked up a PI call (and then tried a field goal).

That's a few things.

THAT SAID...I still think we gave a (perhaps) superior team a heck of a game. We almost won it anyway. There were things about it I liked (Witten more involved, for one thing). But we had several chances to go up on these guys and we coiuldn't pull it through.

The o-line, in my opinion, got pushed around today - AND THAT INCLUDES LA.

Writing this year off was a statement made out of frustration and I was wrong to say that. If Parcells proved anything with the 90 Giants is the game must be played. It's just the make up of our O is terrible. For instance, a poster pointed out that Glenn leads the league with yards per catch and said that I don't know football. O.K great Glenn leads the league in yards per catch but how many catches does he make? Irvin pointed out what a number 1 reciever is. Glenn does not fit it but T.O. does. Now if Parcells doesn't want T.O. fine but we sure do need someone like him.

Ok, now this makes more sense. Acquiring a player with the talent that T.O has would definitley change the offensive potency of the team.

you my friend have just put your "true fan status" in serious question!! Also, if think this year is over for us, at 7-4 and a half game back in our division with 2 division games left, you also make yourself sound unintelligent. Winning the SB is not a measure of success. We have already had a successful year by proving that we have a solid core of young guys on this team that can be difference makers in the future, some who already are making a difference. This team has a lot of heart, and we just played our arse off and took the 2nd best team in the league to OT. Tell me thats worth writing this season off, you'll be laughed off this board talking crazy like that.

Besides the BIG run by Dayne, our defense shut down Denver's high powered running attack. We made Plummer look average. Some things didn't go our way today, but I'm still confident in this team. They showed they can play with anyone. This team makes the playoffs and makes some noise in the playoffs. You're right, winning the SB is not nessecarily the only measure of sucess. For a team that hasn't been a legit contender for nearly 10 years, it's good to see how good a young core of players we have. This team is going to be special next year, but this year is far from over. I think they can catch fire.

Maybe you could have blocked too on those off tackle runs? Seriously, I think we did try to run off tackle. It wasn't working.

I doubt that play was called with only Glenn in the route. It's always a good idea to have a receiver running an out, quick slant or hitch pattern on 3rd-and-2. If it's open, it's an easy first down, if not Bledsoe should look to someone else. I'm sure Payton didn't dictate to Bledsoe where to throw the ball.

As much as we were trying to pass, if we couldn't keep them out of the box, I doubt any trick plays would've. We tried several screens and they didn't even work.

I agree about the O-line. I don't agree about the play calling or coaching, not today.

Absolutely correct. Leave it up to Parcells about T.O. for next year, but don't underestimate what a true #1 stud, go-to, playmaking WR would do for our team.
