We overrated this DL

again, I said in the 4th quarter. just looking at the numbers from 4th quarter. we give up an average of almost 120 yards of offense in the 5 losses. extrapolate that over 4 quarters as average it would but us at about 472 ypg, which would be dead last. yes I understand that I extrapolated it over 4 quarters based on one quarter result, but that's the point I am trying to make. in the 4th quarter, when we need to be our best. we are pretty bad.

we also give up an average of 7 points per 4th quarter...that's about 28 points a game (again extrapolated to 4 quarters) and that puts us in the bottom 5.

now, what I do need to do and will take a little time, is to compare numbers for the 4th quarter for every team....still I doubt if we are really that good in the 4th...

I'm guilty of overrating the defense in general... I still think they're better than last season, but I didn't expect them to allow a season high in points to an inept Eagles offense... The defense has held some better offenses to less points, so the real identity of the defense remains a mystery to me...

As for the DL specifically, Hardy is the only one I'm satisfied with... Lawrence is good as a rotational backup, but he just doesn't make enough plays to be satisfied with him playing the majority of the snaps... Randy Gregory is/was supposed to be "the best pass-rusher in the draft", but we have yet to see any of that come to fruition... Ty Crawford is really good if he's your second-best DT in a 4-3... David Irving has come on strong, but my sentiments regarding him echo my sentiments on Crawford... All the other DL are JAGs...
