This offseason some of us dismissed Charles Haley's harsh criticism of our DL, it appears he was right!

I didn't ask for a defensive shut out. You know you've lost a debate when you're forced to start putting words in people's mouths. Good job. Yes, we need more from the offense. Brilliant. Guess what? We need more from the defense too and I'm pointing out a glaring deficiency.

Lol, seriously? We are chatting on a message board dude and it has been a pretty brief exchange at that. Debate it is not, unless you are rocking the elementary circuit.

Everyone on the board would have liked six sacks against the Seahawks but it did not happen. But, the effort was such that Dallas kept Seattle to their lowest point total of the season.

Good luck on all that winning debate stuff though. I'll pencil you in as someone that takes this whole "debate" thing seriously.

And I'll pencil you in as someone who resorts to misquoting others to make his unfounded points.

Don't blame the players. Blame Marinelli and his absurd D-line rotation. I honestly think the guy could have 8 1st round draft picks on a D-line...and still find a way to mess it up.....o_O

I would agree fro the most part. But as a Unit, they dont step up, when its mandatory to step up, to win a game. They know the O is struggling.

They need to step up and stop Seattle on that last drive.....the O isnt going to do them any favors. Well boo-hoo. Step up and make a crucial stop.

But, as an organization, after Romo and Dez went down, we turned to the D. And, they havent stepped up, when it counts the most. Last weelk.... OT vs the Saints, ST vs the Giants.......

I understand that but the other team gets paid to play too. Russell Wilson has been to two Super Bowls in a row. He's no slouch. The guy is legit. Romo has made several plays like that as well. It doesn't mean your defense isn't good or doesn't make big plays. It just means the opposing team got the best of you. Now if it was Sam Bradford doing that? I'd feel a little more insulted. And IMO, the defense is why we have even been in any of these games to begin with. The Defense has given this false impression that we should've won some of these games we've lost. We shouldn't have. Our offense can't score.

Amber: I think Marinelli is doing just fine. Having said that no coach in above reproach.

I happen to live in Michigan and watched Marinelli coach himself through a couple of the most awful years including a 0-16 season that will forever have his name etched in it.

Yet....He's got a clean slate here in this forum. I don't see how anyone should forget that abomination he led in Detroit and let him off scott free.

I think the more accurate statement is we overrated the DTs. Hardy has been great. Lawrence, if you believe the analysts, has been pretty good. Mincey has played fairly well. Gregory looked great before getting hurt. Even Jack Crawford has made an impact in the limited snaps he's gotten.

But the interior of the DL is terrible. Crawford has been a massive disappointment and it only took 7 games to wonder why the heck we signed him to that massive deal. Hayden is mediocre at best. Behind those two? Not much.

IMO, part of this falls on Marinelli and his bizarre belief that basically any warm body can play 1 tech in his scheme. They need to go out this offseason and find a real dominant 1 tech guy IMO.

And to think we passed on Malcolm Brown......Just dumb

The deeper we get into this season.....the worse last off season is beginning to appear.

DC and HC are about as similar as the Terminator and Peewee Herman.

Wade worst HC in history.

Wade in Denver just dominated Aaron Rodgers like I've never seen before and his team is undefeated and carried by his defense.

I agree. And I really have no beef with the defense, accept that. maybe make a play, at the right time. And start creating some turn overs! other then that, they have been improved this year.,

I won't knock them too hard for not making more plays when teams are playing conservative but I agree with you ultimately. It would be nice to get more because this defense is this teams bread and butter right now and we need them to get us a TD one of these games.

yeah. no real problem with the D, thusfar. They have been playing solid football. They breakdown every now and then(Atlanta) but i think we got out schemed. Not putting that one on the players.

And I see them getting better week in and week out. Im sure they are taught this. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, the turnovers just dont come. But, in the current situation, I would be telling them to "sell out" to get that turnover.

We simply cant win without it. The offense it too inept. So, if I am coach, Im telling them to ............."go get the ball" That might mean will put an already inept offense in a hole......but we arent winning anyway....

Against Philly... I would have a "code word". When that code word is muttered during the defensive calls, that means sell out for the turnover.............

we gotta have it. ---- I think we match up pretty good against Philly, and I think we might win this one.

Malcolm Brown is a RB.

Malcom Brown, the DT was drafted in the 1st round. The Cowboys 1st round pick Byron Jones is already the best player in the secondary and maybe the 2nd best player on defense the past 3 weeks. Jones has played in the Dime as a TE coverage specialist. He's played both Strong and Free Safety and last week he was the slot CB and Safety when no slot CB was required.

The primary problem with the defensive line is the 1T spot. Nick Hayden is not good enough for the volume of snaps he is getting.

Every week opponents have success (great success) running the football right at his gaps. Until we figure that out, we'll continue to see big gains from teams running at Hayden.

I would take him off the field in more spots and go to a modified 3-4 or 4-3 Flex with an extra linebacker on the field playing the inside run gaps.
