We should try to get Logan Mankins

Not Mankins but I could definitely see Dallas shopping Hanna around (without parting with a draft pick) for a better option at RG, Dante Rosario and Gavin Escobar are good options as your 2nd and 3rd TE so they are deep at TE and would be deep at Guard by acquiring a starting caliber RG and moving Berny to the backup. Arkin-Costa-Berny are all very good options as back ups.

I don't think they are panicked about getting a RG so I wouldn't add any draft picks outside of a 6th or 7th rounder, but they obviously know they need an upgrade at that spot so I don't see why they wouldn't entertain the idea of making a trade. So anyone bashing the idea isn't taking into consideration that they don't trust Arkin or Berny as the starter and neither do I as a fan.

So why not package Hanna and a 6th rounder and see what you can get? if you don't like what's out there sign Brian Waters and see if he can still play.

Cap issues aside, I wouldn't even want to do that deal. Hanna is a bright young player, and a second round pick can do a lot of damage. Mankins is a year away from his knees being shot, if they aren't already.

Can people be required to pass a basic test of football knowledge before being allowed to create new threads? ):

How would you ever be heard?

Come down off your high horse, you aren't as knowledgeable as you think you are.

Unbelievable.

Show me another team that's done that.

I've done enough research showing you how teams like the Giants have spent numerous early draft picks on corners.

And we've seen how teams that have very good offensive lines like the Bills and KC haven't done squat overall.

You do some research for a change... pal. ;)

The Rams spent a pretty penny on Finnegan. Then used a top 40 pick on another CB.

Don't destroy the myth for him.

He's forever stuck playing "Madden 1970" where there are 15 pass attempts and 45 rushing attempts per game.

Translation - I can't show you another team that's done that. But I'm a corner addict so it's okay. However, a less ridiculous trade for an OG? We're not playing Madden here.

What myth? I asked to show me another team that spent 50 million on one CB and then moved into the top 10 of the draft for another. I'm still waiting for one.

To be fair...there is a large difference in comp between trading up for #6 and top 40 (ironically with same team that allowed you to trade up).

How often does the situation arise where the opportunity to do that is there?

If the Rams weren't will to offer a "deal" for the 6th overall pick, then this exchange wouldn't be happening.

Of course there is.

What Mikey told me is that was par for the course in today's NFL. Yet he can't name one other team who has done something similar and you certainly don't see that kind of thing from the teams winning titles these days.

You want to stop a passing game you do it through pressure not coverage.

Use the search button and pull up the many debates where info has been researched for you.

Probably every year. There are CBs on the free agent market every year. There are CB prospects graded in the top 15 overall in the draft every year. The opportunity is there. The Dallas Cowboys were the only team dumb enough to do it.

The Cowboys have had a decade where they've ranked better in sacks than they have in pass defense... year after year.
