Yep, it would be a typical razzle dazzle get the local yokels fired up type of move we have expected from Jerruh while the defensive line wreckage smolders.

Its classic bait and switch ... he might even trade up to get him *chuckle*

Hey look over here ... bright shiny new Johnny Football ... hes the greatest QB ever.

This would probably push me over the edge. I cant stand the kid already, imagining the circus is even worse.

I hate the aggies, but Manziel is the real deal. He will be a first rounder and we'd be stupid not to take him if given the opportunity. And I'm a "romo" guy too, but you still take Johnny if you can.

Yeah, I'm a Romo fan too, but a Cowboys fan first. I think having someone to push Romo would be good for the team. Plus, Manziel may be the only way to get Jerry interested in life after Tony.

Go look at tape of fran tarkenton, steve young, and to a lesser extent the earlier years of Romo. Thats Manziel in terms of elusiveness.

For those that are talking about his "weak arm strength"..... that is completely laughable.

Oh, I completely agree with you. He needs to sit for a year or two. Not start right away. But the kid is the real deal. No doubt about it.

He's a perfect fit in Philly but they will be drafting Mariota. Maybe KC?

Good Lord I I think would officially tap out at that point. Seriously.

Last week was the first time in years that I turned off the game and did something else. I wasn't even mad because I basically knew it was coming. In my 25 years of being a fan I have always been p*ssed off for days about losses like this. But I've finally reached the point of being apathetic and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Bringing in the circus that is Manziel would probably push me over the edge.

Right there with you. Apathetic and cynical are the right words for it. Until some major change occurs in the GM position or the Cowboys hire a coach with real power and intelligence, like Johnson or Parcells, I feel it will be more of the same.

I'm so disappointed in Garrett. I really thought he would work out. He either has no ability to develop a team with depth or has no influence on Jones in regards to personnel decisions. Either way, it's not working.

I dont want any part of this guy..... For one I dont think he will hold up and two hes not in a pro style offense.

I'm back and forth on this. The 2nd part of your post, I mean... I actually don't want much to do with him either.

But I can see him succeeding, and I can see him failing also. Some of the things that make him great clearly won't work in the NFL, but I honestly don't see much difference in some aspects of his game as I do with 2006 Tony Romo-- shorter QB that throws a bit side armed and is able to buy time in the pocket with his feet.

You guys crack me up. IMO - Johnny Manziel will be drafted before we get our hands on him but for the record saying his game will not translate into the NFL is a big reach. Maybe you guys didn't watch the games he's had against Alabama. His height is an issue at 5'11 (we see how R.Wilson is failing, lol) but they said the same thing about Drew Brees at 6'0 and Doug Flutie at 5'8. His arm strength is more than adequate, sorry Mel Kiper...watch his throws he has a bit more zip then our Romo, a very quick release, he's very accurate with his passes and his mobility is off the charts. He's been clocked at a 4.3 in the 40, I believe he can be a great escape artist type QB (tarkenton, young, romo) who can play in or out of the pocket but also run the zone read. Manziel doesn't need the money, his family is very wealthy, he partied in college so what....I think he's growing up before our eyes. I watched Mariotta against Stanford...i'd say no thanks to him and Teddy Bridgewater looks like another EJ Manuel to me. I'm not saying these guys won't make it but they don't make many "Wow" plays. Johnny makes 2-3 per game with his arm, his head and his feet. That's a fact. There is no quarterback in college football that has you on the edge of your seat waiting for greatness besides Manziel. Give Flutie 3 inches in height and 4.3 - 4.4 speed and what do you get? Russell Wilson? Nope he runs a 4.6 throws a pretty touch pass and is the not the playmaker that Manziel is. I heard his critics comparing him to Tebow the other day. That's funny, there's no comparison except they are both white. It ends there. Tebow is big and slow with a long slow release.

IMO - Johnny Manziel will be the best player and QB to come out of next years draft.

theyre saying he's going in the first round. we're not wasting a first round pick on a QB. next year's draft is also supposed to be deep with QBs. i'd much rather use a 3rd or 4th round pick on a QB that can develop while Romo plays out his contract.

i highly doubt we're interested in drafting Johnny

Heard the radio talking about that this morning. I thought they just said all those teams has scouts at the game, not that they were necessarily scouting Manziel. We and others could've been looking at Mike Evans and/or plenty of others on both teams. I seriously doubt we're interested in Johnny if for no other reason than the huge contract Romo just signed.

“Although we’ve just signed Romo, there’s a time when you start at quarterback, preparing for the future,” Jones explained. “We can’t talk about, I’m forbidden, from league rules of talking at all about an undrafted player, a player that still has eligibility. That has as much to do with your competitive aspect of other teams not liking that. In other words, what are you doing? Are you trying to recruit? Are you getting ahead of things?

I can’t talk about him but, gosh, do I enjoy watching him and I am enjoying our Heisman Trophy winner."

The way Jones talk about Manziel, he is fascinated with him, like getting a new toy. I think IF Jones can get him, he will, which I hope he doesn't.

Has he ever taken a snap from under center? Would he have to reach up to take a snap from under center?

Johnny Football has the two most important qualities necessary to play behind Jerry's OL - he can outrun defensive linemen, and he can throw accurately running full speed. :D

So could Romo, but somebody wants him to chill in the pocket...

Interesting.
Manziel's pocket presence & accuracy is top-notch.
With the right QB coach and if Manziel personally commits himself to being a student of the pro game, he would be a good fit.
It's all about the future.

Agreed. I think its kinda funny how so many other guys think his game wont translate to the NFL. Based off what? All questions about his game have been answered this year. Size? Hes not that small and still going to grow. Arm strength? He has been able to make any pass he has needed to... I still see internet sports guys (like me lol) compare him to Tebow. His game is nothing even close to that of Timmy. Even Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have him climbing in thier draft board. Who knows what will happen but I dont see how the kids has so many haters.

I am very high on this kid. I see Fran Tarkington, in him. I could live with the height but I agree, his overall size concerns me. He looks scrawny next to college kids, I can only imaging on the NFL field. I would still take a shot on him if he was there when we pick. Of course you also have to factor in the personality and is he gonna grow up or not.

Jerry would love to draft Manziel. Just think of the # of jerseys he'd sale on draft day. He would fill the stands and make him a bucket load of money. Nothing changes until Jerry changes.
