We will regret not going up for Carson Wentz

It's as simple as that.

Yes we may have an all pro corner in Ramsey or a solid at best Defensive end in Bosa but it's going to be hard watching Wentz have success at a high level while our QB is falling apart and asked to do too much because coaching doesn't happen here.

I am so upset to hear that we really aren't interested in QB's and we are more likely to go after a guy like Prescott who doesn't provide immediate help and probably doesn't give us longterm help.

No position effects the game like QB. The NFL is all about the coaching and QB and if we at least have a QB it makes Garrett look like he has a clue.

This will be completely unforgivable if Carson Wentz is a stud. I don't care if our pick turns out well either. You have to grab a QB when the opportunity presents itself.

Also, the fact they coached this guy at the Senior bowl and still didn't make it a priority to go and get him.

I got a bad feeling we're going to restructure Carr, Draft Bosa, reach for Prescott in the 2nd, and there we will be.

I know the draft is a long way away but I just have to get this out of my system.

I was having a good day until I read your post. :( If we do not get Wentz I am guessing that there will be Dallas Cowboy jumpers from tall buildings around the country. That day will be called DOOMSDAY.:banghead::facepalm::angry::mad:

I just hope that we want Wentz so bad that Jerry is just flat out denying that he wants anything to do with a QB.

I hope he told anyone and everyone that if information comes out about us wanting Wentz that they will lose their job.

We are approaching free agency with future in mind and I just can't believe that they would go into the draft with a win now mentality and pass on getting a potential beast in Wentz.

It's kind of hard to regret something you have no control over. If the Titans are indeed selling the top pick, there's no guarantee the Cowboys would even have the best offer. Regret is usually saved for players you directly passed on.

Catch, what are you willing to give up for the 1st pick in the draft?

A franchise QB is priceless and this guy is going to be a good one..

I don't know what exactly is a fair trade but I'd give up Byron Jones and Randy Gregory for Wentz..

This league is all about the QB.

Is that enough to out bid Cleveland? With Demarco they are going to want Martin as well.

@CATCH17 When will Wentz be NFL ready? Two or three years is a likely guess. Even Romo said he wasn't ready when he came out of college. So, even if you do draft Wentz, you may not see any benefit from him until the 2018 or 2019 season.

Garrett and Linehan said they are basically running the same offense as last year with only minor changes. If that is the case, it doesn't matter who you draft or who you have as a backup. Without a healthy Romo, this offense is going nowhere. Weeden couldn't do jack with Garrett's offense. Cassel couldn't do squat with Garrett's offense. Kellen Moore couldn't do diddley-squat. What makes you think Wentz is going to be able to do anything under Garrett?

Garrett had Dez Bryant on the bench early as a rookie if I remember correctly.

Drafting a Qb at 4 this year is only good if this is truly Garrett's last year here and we get a coach next year who has a different scheme. Otherwise, expect more of the same and keep your fingers crossed that Romo stays healthy.

I personally think if Wentz is there, we take him. I don't know if we'll go up to get him.
I also believe Cleveland will take Goff, not Wentz.

Because Wentz, like Romo, is a playmaker and can extend and make plays outside of the system.

Also, I don't buy into Wentz being some longterm project.

He'll be as ready as Goff or any of the rest of them.

He keeps getting the small school knock on him and he just keeps outperforming all of them.

People think just because he has upside that he isnt ready to play. He is more ready then Flacco was, would have a better line then Flacco did andwould a top 5 WR which Flacco didnt.

If he had to start in 2016, he can easily play ar the level Carr did as a rookie which wasnt too bad

It took room three years to get ready. It is a risk as to when Wentz can be ready. I don't think any of this year's QBs will be ready until two or three years later.

I think you will see teams shifting toward developing strategies and game plans to win in the NFL without a superstar QB. Those superstar Qbs are getting harder and harder to find. And more expensive. And one injury to the superstar Qb and the season is toast. Too much risk associated with one person. We need to set up our team for success without a star QB going forward. Plan for the bus driver at Qb and not the delicate, expensive, and hard to find race car driver.

I agree. Jerry thinks we can win now but he's wrong. This roster has not improved since we went 12-4. We are getting older and slower

That's a total contradiction.

It's hard to find a franchise QB so just forget about it and try to build a perfect roster in salary cap football?

No thanks.. You do everything possible to get a QB.

We just so happen to have completely lucked out with our bad luck.

If you think these QBs suck then fair enough but if you see any potential for bigtime success and you pass and they go on to be studs then it is completely unforgivable.
