And that's painfully obvious when you look at teams last year such as the Seahawks (3-3 in the last six games of 2004), the Giants (1-5) and the Bears (1-5). They all stink this season.

Ok AdamJT13. You're right. Maybe I'm being too simplitic, and perhaps pecimistic, in saying that this recent slide will have negative implications for next year's team. But I still do contend that that coaches have done a poor job of developing some of the players, and where it's most obviouis in in the OL and the LB corps where the guys now playing are clearly not playing up to their ability. Do you agree that the coaches' inability to develop these young players is a big part of the problem? If not is there something else going on that I'm not seeing?

You are WAY too smart for us.

We won't be better next year if we have the same qb's and if Parcells is still running the personnel department. Again, Bledsoe's career winning percentage is .503, ie. 8-8, and Parcells said he didn't want Griese cause cause he's a 8-8 qb, so he goes and gets Bledsoe. Parcells didn't run the draft with the Giants and he won 2 superbowls, wasn't allowed to run the draft with the Pats and he got to one. He ran things with the Jets and had mixed success and now he runs everything here and we're underachieving when he brings in 'his guys'. That says it all.

I could do like the guy from Detroit....and sell my allegiance on e-bay. The only problem for him was, the guy who bought it was a Lions fan.

Boy kartr you sure are negative. IMO Parcells has upgraded our personnel every year he's been here. Even if he is a complete bust (and I don't believe he is) Bledsoe is not the only acquisition Parcells has made. Parcells is far from perfect but I'm not ready to fire him yet. I think he gets one more year to try and fix the offense and tune up the defense a bit more.

If he doesn't make it next year, I think he'll retire. If we lose the rest of the way, you might get your wish and he'll retire this year. I might be willing to replace Parcells but only for a long term obviously excellent replacement like Weis, Holmgren, or Jimmy Johnson. The reason I might agree with you on the replacement is the one area where I agree with you. I want to see an heir apparent at quarterback and a real plan to get him ready at the end of Bledsoe's tenure. I am concerned that the win now philosophy at QB will hurt us over the long run. All of his other moves look pretty good to me.

When your learning to walk, you have a few falls.
This was one of those. We will be fine next year, and better.

Back at ya.

Oh...and at least the christmas tree and ornaments were not too bad and you could replace them from a local vendor.

A few years ago I had to special order a remote control that cost WAY too much ....since then I make sure to throw the remote on the couch or across the room at the other couch....no more throwing it at walls or TVs :D

Man, I am in same boat, except I haven't yet replaced the Remote, that I broke last year. And I never remember myself getting so angry and losing control over game that I never played in.

Funny thing is, even During Barry/Campo/Gailey years, I never got that frustrated enough to break a remote. BP has that beat.

You prolly won't believe this - but I broke the remote too. I have today off so I went and bought a universal remote for $9 at Targets the morning.

Luckily - we have extra ornaments.

In the early 90's, I actually bit a remote and broke it. 49er game, so I know all about those handy universal remotes.

:D

My ol' lady says I have a temper so I locked her in the garage.

I was nice enough to let her out this morning.

:laugh1:

Oh, boy, I guess I never knew one can get angry enough to be in competition with a Dog in eating/biting things:eek:

Btw, I empathize about the ol'lady thing, my ol'lady knows enough to steer off my way when Cowboys lose :D

Believe it or not, right now the teams I'm going to pull for since the Cowboys seem out of it are..........(drum roll)...............

NFC = Bears

AFC = Patriots

I think the Bears are an intriguing story and team. Once again, they've been proving that defense is enough....and last night Grossman made a huge comeback in the 2nd half...they may be a very dangerous team.

I love Tom Brady....okay, i said it...I'm out of the closet and not afraid of the homophobic tirades. I would love nothing more than to see that team continue to pull it all together when fans and media had written them off.... I really want to see them defeat Indy and go back to the SB again...I would get great joy from that.

Not only do I believe it - but those are the same two teams I am rooting for. If KC gets in though, I'll be rooting for them instead of the Pats.

I'd love to see P Manning lose another big game.

i am sick and tired of all the "we'll be better NEXT year" reactions. three years after 5-11 and we're looking at only a 3 or 4 game improvement and still not competing for the NFC.
now we're even looking up at the suckazz skins for gods sake, it doesn't get much worse.

.

How do you figure we're not competing in the NFC?

#1) we are not even eliminated from the playoffs with 2 weeks to go.

#2) just last week many were still talking about winning the division.

#3) several weeks ago, some were talking about home field advantage, not to mention, winning the division.

To suggest we are not competing for the NFC, IMO, is a result of an azz-woopin that happened less than 24 hours ago.

Rock on. :yourock:

competing "for the NFC", as in NFC Title. I know we can compete "in the NFC" because there's no dominate teams. Just pisses me off that Gibbs seems to be moving in the right direction and we're going backward after a promising start.

Competing for the NFC is what I'm talking about. I agree, there are no dominant teams in the NFC and that is exactly the basis for my opinion.

We WON'T be better-off next year. I say that because a team's play over the last 6 games of one season is telling of the type of team it will put out on the field the following year. And that's because it is in those last 6 games where the younger players are asked to step it up and show they can be relied on for the future of the team. We have already had two poor showins against division teams (i.e. Ginats and Commanders) in games of playoff implications and our younger players are playing worse with each passing game. Even the secnd win over the Eagles was a fluke since even they dominated us most of the game.

What alarms me most about these three division games is that these players actually have the talent to provide a promising future but that has not been properly developed by our coaching staff. In a sense, it's just wasted talent There-in lies the main problem with this team for now and the future. When Parcells says "We didn't look like we had a chance", that statement says more about the coaches than the players.

oh so were not gunna draft anyone at all? We wont sign anyone in FAy? We will go to war with the same personnel we had last year.

Whatever. I see you nothing of how to build a team in the offseason. You know nothing of long term plans and you know nothing of Parcells history.

However, teams like the Hawks, Gints, Skins, Bears, Panthers, Bucs HAVE what We, Moony, Philly, and Atlanta DON'T have-fire, heart, guts, and determination.

Just trying to be pragmatic. Cowlishaw mentioned that BP had never won without Weiss and Belichick when he was first hired. I began to research some of his misgivings after that and found out that the criticisms were valid. I don't claim to know more than Bill, but I have enough knowledge and experience to know when an authority figure contradicts himself and is making fundamental mistakes. Bill needs to learn that he is at his best when someone else who is not beholding to himself makes personnel decisions. That is the same problem that Holmgren and other GM/coaches have. But until he realizes that, I think we'll be running in place. I believe like Jimmy, play-makers is the name of the game and don't exclude the qb position. I think Brunell has proven that this year and I think Shawn Merriman has also made my point.

You need good assistants-PERIOD. Aside from Belichick, Chris Palmer was a key with that 96 Pats team 'cuz he was largely responsible for helping to clean up Bledsoe's faulty mechanics(Drew had his best year).

Frankly-we don't need a Belichick or a Weis here. It's that Payton and Zimmer are BEYOND abysmal. Maybe that's why Parcells is throwing more tirads at his coaches on the sidelines as usual-there's NOONE he can confide in now.

BTW-I believe Bill P is good friends with Ron Wolf. Maybe Jerry should try to get a GM here, for a change.
