I think this guy is a former first round pick for a reason. He has a better arm than Romo, really can make the throws.Tony Romo looked old like Peyton Manning is these days.I always wondered why Dallas kept Romo but yet rest of team got younger.Really it might be a changing of the guard.Weeden and our offense is the best in the NFC East. The other teams in the NFC East are so bad this year.Don't give up here we may still be a jugernaut later in the end of season.

Long term it is better for the Cowboys let Weeden play and see what he can do.Everybody says we need to draft a QB, guys this guys is a first rounder, higher than we usually get to pick.He might yet be the steal of the year. Our front office needs more credit, they really get it.Where are the Murray folks today he looked old today too.

It is gonna be ok.At the end of the day it is only a game.Last year my father in law was alive the Cowboys were 1-15.Didn't matter I enjoyed every minute I had with him.Remember to hug your loved ones life is short. And Weeden might be the next Romo you never know.

Short Bus Alert...the comment anyway. massively silly.

As for Weeden; I do think he could help keep us afloat for awhile. We'll see.

Where have I heard this before?

Oh yeah, last year after he looked decent in relief against Washington. Then he stunk it up the next week.

He stunk it up against Arizona, but outplayed Romo vs Washington.

The guy is no Tony, but you can't judge him based on a single game.

I think the fact that Weeden has been in the system for two off-seasons and one full season and has worked with the 1's most Wednesdays will help his confidence and comfort level this time around. The Cowboys' OL is probably the best one in the NFL for a non-mobile QB. I think he'll do fine.

for good or bad Weeden is our QB and I hope Cowboy Nation can get behind him. I hear people say he has been a bad starter for us? It was 1 game, give Weeden a chance

yeah he looked good in game in philly ,7-7 73 yds. and in the wash game , the Ariz game, I think he was nervous, and they were a very good team
at that point, and great defense.
So really he had one start, against a great team, and was not impressive.

So I am thinking he needs a game or 2 to settle in and relax, get used to playing and making throws.

The problem is Atlanta has a good pass rush, not sure about NO, or NE, and Atlanta is 2-0 and a defense that mauled philly.
So I am going to give weedon 2-4 games as a learning curve, and if he can win 2 of next 4 that is a good deal, 3 of 4 would be great.

Atlanta and NE would have been tough games even with romo, in fact I was thinking about picking dallas to lose both of those games with romo.
So I dont expect weedon to come off bench having only played 1 game in last 2 years and beat these 2 teams.
If he can win any of the next 3 games it is a big plus.

After the bye he will have had 3 games and a week off , so should be then ready to play like a starter, and much better and not nervous.

However he seemed relaxed sunday, so maybe he will step in and play relaxed right away !

Go to Fan Duel and make Weeden your starter. Let me know how it goes ;)

Jeff George had a better arm than Joe Montana. Ryan Leaf had a MUCH better arm than Peyton Manning too. Arm strength is overrated.

Look. This is Weeden's 4th year. There is a chance he has made improvements.

He has the arm. He just needs to rely on the run game, make the short throws, limit turnovers.

I think Weeden is someone who rides confidence. If Linehan can put Weeden in a position to succeed his confidence and level of play has a chance to grow. He has the tools.

Has to be a product of the new Common Core education teachings, I mean even ebonics would have been better...

I am in wait and see mode with Weeden.

Positive side of me thinks: He has a lot of the tools, going into his fourth year and first time he has been in the same O system for a second year. Maybe knowing the O will slow things down for him and he plays well. Hearing him say, that sometimes the right play is to check down and make the play that is there instead of forcing a throw, made me feel like he is learning, as he has had issues with INT's.

Negative side of me thinks: There are just some guys that speed up under pressure and will always make poor decisions. He has not shown that he can read D's and go through the proper progressions and maybe he will never do it well. His pocket awareness and escape-ability have to be better.

The game plan will have to change and we will see if he is the same Ole Weeden or he has progressed, I would say it is a 50/50 proposition for him to be what we need over the next 8 weeks.

Atl has that Vic Beasley that will have Weeden in his sights. He definitely will need to get rid of the ball fast this week.

Doesn't he rush from Tyrons side. Ha. Good luck with that.

Well young Beasley will have to go through Tyron to do it because he's their left DE its going to be a long day for him.

Beyond that there was a reason why Arizona was in the playoffs last year and it wasn't their qb play. Their defense was very good
