The media loves to point out that Romo is now 36, but I haven't heard so much as a mouse fart about how Eli is now 35 (and a half). Shut down Beckham and you shut down Eli. He has no mobility and he's mistake prone. We're gonna run it up their noses. Not just Zeke but Dak and Morris as well. That's gonna open up the passing game late and Dak will take advantage on the loose coverage. We may have a rookie Quarterback but they have a rookie Head Coach. It won't be pretty but the Cowboys win a close one and leave Eli with another dumb look on his face.

Now that there's some sound logic...right down to the dumb look on Eli's face! :)

Here in Giants Country I'm hearing a lot of pessimism from their fans. They're not at all happy with what they've seen in pre-season and they feel it will translate early into the regular season. There's a lot of concern about Dak and Zeke as well. Doesn't mean much but I figured I'd share since most of you don't have to hear their crud first hand.

Once the Giants figure out they should just sit back and bomb the football to thier WR's we are going to be in trouble. NO one on our team can cover Bechham and with 3 and 5 seconds to throw the ball he will destroy the zone defense.
Beckham did nothing to us the first game. he took one big hit from Wilcox and finished with 45 yards. Just saying. It was last season.

From a NY tabloid....

Cowboys star fizzles as Giants sizzle on opening day

The game took off after Eli connects with Odell in what would become a combo the Cowboys just couldnt over come. Neither Claiborn or Carr could stop the Gmen from overloading their secondary. Stand out player Byron Jones tried his best, but the cowboys kept him locked in positon as Eli enjoyed decimating the Cowboys defense. Eli, Odell and Ben combined for 350 all purpose yards as the Cowboys stuck to their plan of running the ball, but even after getting 150 yards from rookie Ezekiel and back up Alfred Morris, the cowboys forgot stats dont win games and could only generate two touchdowns from the staunch Giants defense.

McAdoo out coaches Garrett by not sticking to what didnt work. The Giants got most of their yards after the pass demoralized the cowboys defense that refused to put pressure on Eli allowing him a good day of picking apart the cowboys secondary who had the best seats in the house of Eli using short passes and long bombs to spread out the defense to put his WR's in position to win.

Dak Prescott, wishing it was pre season again, got the cowboys to the red zone with a 76 yard drive on the legs of his running backs who grabbed 50 of the 76. Once in the red zone, Garrett confused his own team by trying to pass 3 times into the red zone resulting in no points.

The Cowboys defense went full lawn chair mode as they folded on a brilliant 75 yard drive by Eli and crew to go up 21 by the end of the half.

The cowboys tried to contain Odel but the Giants running game kicked into gear as the offense started to open up. The winded cowboys had no answer as again and again the question was asked "where is the pressure"? . Eli came out again to ensure victory as the cowboys watched as Odel, Victor and Ben chewed up the defense as they went prevent with the game well out of hand. The Giants played it easy for the rest of the game as the Cowboys attempted their comeback which was a little to late as they ran out of clock. Dak completed 2 TDs to finish his day 15 for 150 and 2 tds to Elis 22 for 200 and 4 tds . Odel, Ben and Eli rack up for a nice win and giving McAdoo confidence to win the east.

Giants cruise to a win to start the season, 41 to 21.

Injuries from the game.

Sean Lee (LB) back
Kyle Wilber (LB) hamstring
Cowboys Pride (FO) wallet

That was funny. I laughed and laughed and then laughed some more when I realized the dude doesn't even know how to spell Odell.

I'm always torn on these week 1 Giants games. This one's worse, because we have the rookie QB. I still think our offense is the best unit on the field this week. I'd love it if it comes down to a last minute drive with Dak, who converts and beats Eli the way only Tony used to be able to do. Especially if it's on a toss to Witten, since Witten being open all the time drives the average Giants fan absolutely nuts.

I'm not confident, but it would be amazing, so I'm going to roll with that until we get a chance to see what Dak really can or can't do in a regular season game.

Dallas 30 - NY 23

Dallas will pound the rock with a good mix of Elliott and Morris, and Dak will make enough plays with his arms - and legs - to keep the secondary honest. He will impress and play mostly mistake-free football, and our defense will make enough key stops to force them into field goals instead of TD's.

Elliott scores the first Dallas TD from 4 yards out, Beasley catches another, and Dak runs one in from 7 yards out. Dez has a good day - just no TD's.

And there you have it. Just like that. Wait and see. :)

I feel like that giants front 4 might present a lot of problems for the cowboys. Especially the JPP vs free match up. And its gonna be tough moving that 350lb beast "snacks" off the block. Also the cowboys Dline has made the Giants below average oline look all world in the recent past so I'm sure Eli will have lots of time to throw.... Still I hope I'm completely wrong but:

Giants 31
Cowboys 21

Games missed due to injury is why you hear about Romo's age and not Eli's.

Giants.......34
Cowboys...31

Sorry, don't mean to rain on anybody's parade but I just don't see us beating the G-men with this pop warner level defense.

Cowboys lose a shootout, but Dak shines regardless, we will not lose because of Dak, it will be because of this defense.

I don't know how many of you were able to watch Giants in preseason. I was at the Jets-Giants preseason game where the Jets starting D shut down Giants offense entirely. We weren't able to do anything and their D line was having a feast on our OL. Now Jets have a good D line and it was to be expected but what we didn't expect was not being able to do one single thing. We didn't even cross the mid field. Yes we aren't very optimistic about the season to be honest

JPP destroys Free while Vernon gives Tyron some trouble. The trio of OBJ, Cruz, and Sheppard wow the fans with a collective 260 yds receiving. After the game there will be at least 5 DLine is terrible I told you so threads, 2-3 Free is too old threads, 1-2 Cowboys need to get some new receivers threads.

Cowboys 31 Giants 27 and Stephan A and Molly are depressed on Monday while Skip trolls them from Fox. ( my heart Cowboys fan pick )

Giants 31 Cowboys 21. I'm depressed and my girl says told you so...you Cowboys fans when will you learn, they break your heart every year. The rest of the week sux cause it's filled w negative cowboy trash talking ( my brain pick).

Giants. Eli will have enough time to run have those nachos with Peyton and still complete a deep ball to Odell. It's too much to ask of a rookie RB and rookie QB to to carry that load on their backs. Dallas pounds them in the rematch.

Cowboys 27, Giants 24. Dak struggles early but tosses a pair of second half touchdown passes.
