Yeah that's kind of been exaggerated too. Not saying it didn't matter but the guys they had weren't as bad as made out to be. I'm not that familiar but one of them started most last year, supposedly. I dunno, just going off what I've read here.
Yeah those two tackles were the same ones playing last year when the Browns had a pretty good season.

The thing that probably hurts the Browns OL the most is the loss of Bill Callahan this past offseason. OL’s always regress when they lose run game Jesus.

Oh wow, I was unaware. 100% agree, although I'd expect more of a gradual decline losing Callahan. I'm sure they'll put it back together, but that's a tough coaching loss.

Yeah, I’m sure it will continue to decline as they get further and further away from Callahan’s coaching.

The problems yesterday for Cleveland’s OL were:

1. It was game 1 for the OL with little to no preseason play for them as a unit. Of all units, the OL needs the most time together to work well.

2. They had to face a defense that has two rushers like Parsons and Lawrence. Those two are going to create problems for many OL this year. Heck, just having a generational guy like Parsons can change everything for a pass rush.

And

3. They had a QB who was slow to get rid of the ball.

Of course, the Dallas OL hadn’t played together either and they were incorporating two rookies besides… and they had to face Garrett, who poses the same issues as Micah, and they did fine.

The big difference being Dallas hadn’t lost the best OL coach in the game and they weren’t trying to protect a guy as sorry as Watson.

If Zimm can keep Dlaw from having to help in the middle, he will have a monster year book ending with #11

I hit the brakes pretty hard on Kneeland for this year, but he was excellent against Cleveland. If he can continue to be a factor against the pass it’s massive for what this defense can do.
the hard work doesn't always show up on the stats sheets. The ability to pressure and disrupt plays makes a big impact.

DLaw is a great example. His stats don't show how much he wrecks things for multiple OLinemen sometimes. He opens up opportunities for Micah and others.

I'm curious how well Dorance Armstrong does in WAS without DLaw (1tackle, 1 QBHit vs TB)

Look at Marshawn Kneeland on that list . Holy smokes I really love the 2024 draft class. They got the type of players in this draft that I believe will not back down to the big dawgs in SF Philly and yes Balt coming up . Young street fighters on the roster . Thank you Will McClay .
