Week 10 Primer...Green Bay Packers

Depending upon which report you believe, the wind chill factor made this game somewhere between -44 degrees and -48 degrees at game time.

For folks who enjoy warmer climates,

At these temperatures a person starts to lose feeling in the extremities almost immediately...It starts in the hands and feet. You quickly become accustomed to operating without feeling your fingers and toes. The nerve endings go numb, muscles start to stiffen, and skin turns very pale. Exposed skin begins to freeze within minutes. Without proper protection, in the wind you can lose consciousness within fifteen minutes. Cold like that is just penetrating...Even dressed for the occasion in layers of clothing on top of a thick jacket, if you aren't constantly moving you are driven back inside because of the discomfort.

It's hard enough to survive, let alone play a game of football.

However, it's also a frickin' beautiful thing!!! :)

What kind of weather can we expect for the game?

The low is in the mid 30's, the high could be mid 50's-60's, partly cloudy with a chance of rain. It's been unseasonably warm up here for early November. Should be primo football weather.

Packers went on to Super Bowl II having defeated the Cowboys in back to back NFL Championships for the right to face the AFC in the Super Bowl.

AFC or AFL?

I was at Lambeau last year for our big win. I had a great time. Hopefully we'll see the same results next Sunday.

One of those games, and the last one where the two ever faced each other was the 1966 NFL Championship, dubbed "The Ice Bowl." This game is generally accepted as one of the greatest games in NFL History because the players performed under inhuman circumstances. Depending upon which report you believe, the wind chill factor made this game somewhere between -44 degrees and -48 degrees at game time.

The 1966 NFL Championship game was played at the Cotton Bowl on January 1, 1967. Green Bay won 34-27.

The 1967 NFL Championship game was played in Green Bay on December 31, 1967. The 1967 game was the "Ice Bowl".

As much as I hate GB, I loved GB under Brett Favre.......cause it always ended up a W at the end of the game.

Texas Stadium = red kryptonite for SuperFarve....he lost every game he played there.

Holy mackarel. I know it was early yesterday when I started typing this but I don't usually have this many errors.

Thank you.

Thanks Bro. Bad weather would have been a neutralizing effect on our offense. I am glad that won't be the case this week.
