The only scenario where a win at WASH means anything is if GB-Det tie. That is so unlikely we need to treat this weekend like a bye.

It will be good for Weeden to build off that nice TD pass to Williams - hopefully we won't need him in the playoffs but you never know. Give him 2-3 quarters of work then let Vaughn finish.

Actually there's a second scenario but it's very unlikely. We could also get a top 2 seed if both Seattle and Arizona lose next week. Not probable, but possible.

At worst we should treat it like a pre-season game giving the starters one, maybe two, series and then sitting them. Murray should get whatever playing time he needs to break Emmitt's single season franchise record. Martin should not play at all. Get that ankle healed up.

I'm good with not playing any of the starters, except Murray if he wants to go, at all.

If Romo, Murray and co were healthy I would say play them a half, but considering there situations rest is far more important at this stage.

Play for the 1st half and sit the 2nd. Hopefully we get the lead in the 1st. I don't think resting players is a great idea historically on week 17. But that's just from memory

the starter will start who are healthy. they may not play long but a guy like murray who has a chance to set a team record is gonna want to play and some guy may have incentives. not to mention playing guys to keep them sharp. they may have short days but the starters will start. the ony exception could be romo

There are more than one scenario on which our game next week is meaningful, but they all involve ties of some sort.....

I think you should at least start them all

GO FOR THE THROAT

don't give your team oh its ok to lose a game

kinda like when Indy almost went undefeated

they reated a bunch of players then lose the SB when they were clearly the best team

sorry I guys I say GO FULL THROTLE THE AT THE Commanders

AFTER ALKL ITRS THE HATED Commanders

A LOT OF ARE TO YOUNG TO REMEMBER HOW MUCH George Herbert Allen HATED TOM LAIUNDRY

And the best way not to get hurt is by playing your hardest

I'll be honest, I don't know how you approach the season finale. I can see logic in both sides. The team could use some rest, but flipping the switch off in hopes of flipping it back on in the postseason is a gamble.

Hopefully Jason Garrett has the right feel for what the team needs. I'd probably compromise and treat this game as the 3rd preseason game and give the starters a half or a little more. With the exception of Murray. Who should rest that hand and doesn't deserve to break Emmitt's record anyway.

I see both sides of the argument but it's not that absurd to see Arizona losing at San Fran next week. St. Louis beating the Seahawks is the biggest doubt.

It can happen and it would be a shame if we give the Commander game away and that scenario play out later that afternoon.

But in that scenario our game against Washington doesn't matter. If AZ and SEA lose, we get the #2 seed no matter if we win or lose.

Rams can beat the seahawks but that team is so Jekyll and Hyde and their Qb sucks.

I hate to ask, but what is the scenario now for getting a bye?

YR

I believe St. Louis needs to beat Seattle. If that happens, Dallas gets the 2nd seed regardless of what the outcome is with the Commanders.

What about the winner of the lion packer game?

One of those teams will be 12-4 and assuming we finish at 11-5 and the Cards and Seahawks lose and finish 11-5 we wouldn't get the bye under that scenario.

That game in Washington would mean something.

Rams have a shot if they bring it. They looked dominant for 3 straight games and even kept the Cards to 12 before getting ODB'd.

The Cardinals wouldn't count because they would be a wildcard team and are not eligible for a bye week. So it would come down to head-to-head against Seattle. We win.

We would also need AZ to lose. If Seattle loses and AZ wins, AZ is the #1 seed and GB or DET #2.
