For my money and for the best chance for this team to win in the playoffs, I am resting my horses next week. I think the rest is more important than the game or the long shot seeding.

Romo, Murray, Free, and Martin take the week off. You earned it and are more important to this team so get well and healthy for this run.

I believe Rolo Mac needs some rest as does maybe Crawford, Church and Mincey.

I agree
Rest anyone that is not absolutely needed
Use this as the bye week
Players and coaches should be preparing for lions and packers ONLY

I'll be honest, I don't know how you approach the season finale. I can see logic in both sides. The team could use some rest, but flipping the switch off in hopes of flipping it back on in the postseason is a gamble.

Hopefully Jason Garrett has the right feel for what the team needs. I'd probably compromise and treat this game as the 3rd preseason game and give the starters a half or a little more. With the exception of Murray. Who should rest that hand and doesn't deserve to break Emmitt's record anyway.
I can't see the difference between a week 17 bye and a mid-season bye. Teams look forward to byes during the season, and don't worry about having to turn it back on afterwards. Not sure why that would be different here.

I always worry about continuity by giving guys a game off. We are hot right now I think they play as long as we have a lead and if we are up pull them at the start of the third quarter. Keep the fire burning and put our foot on the throat of the dead skins and go into the playoffs smoking. Jmoa

Yeah, I kind of agree. But, i think you almost have to rest them.....keep them away from injury, allow them to get their "Legs" back....

I would have the scouts and coaches already scheming for Detroit. Not the players, just the coaches....

Is it possible to play with all 2nd stringers. If so, I would. Off the top of my head, players I wouldn't even think about playing:
Smith
Leary
Fredbeard
Martin
Parnell
Free (already out)
Romo
Murray
Witten
Dez
Williams
Melton
Mincey
T. Crawford
R. McClain
Hitchens
Carter
Wilcox
Church
Scandrick
Moore
Bailey can kick off only, no attempt at a tackle, no FG or extra point attempt, and no running allowed.

Merry Christmas Washington. Enjoy your sweep (and lower draft position :))

I don't care what Dallas does with their other starts but McClain absolutely needs to sit. Dallas will need that cat if they have any chance at making run.

I'm only resting the walking wounded: RoMac, Martin, and Murray. That's it. Go dominate the Skids and keep on trucking through the tournament.

Hope Murray rests and many other starters do to, but do you bring up R.Williams so we can have 3 RBs instead of 2? There's a reason why he has denied 10 teams request, Mayan they've informed him of their future plans.

Well, seeing as we don't need to win to get a first round bye if both Arizona and Seattle lose (we would get the No. 2 seed then), I could see Garrett resting the starters. But we are hot right now and you want to carry that momentum into the playoffs so it'll be interesting to see what Garrett does.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. If AZ AND SEA both lose... we get the #2 seed?

The biggest problem are far as strategy is concerned is that the Lion/Packer game, as well as the Seahawk and Cardinal games are all late games, and the Cowboys play at noon. If you are going to make the late games potentially matter, you have to play to win against the Commanders not knowing whether the effort is for naught.

I believe in surging into the playoffs, so I play everyone, and try to win the game.

He wants a chance to run behind the Great Wall of Dallas
