Weems is not a good football player

Good try, but Procter was significantly worse. Costa actually made a couple of good blocks which never happened for the Proctologist.
the way the proctologist managed to hang around for years eerily reminds me of Hayden.

Unfortunately they don't provide the All-22 for the preseason games. The Game Pass as it's now called just has the broadcast view for the PS games.

I actually thought Weems improved from week 1. In week 1 he was beaten cleanly twice on inside moves. In week 2 he was a half step behind on inside moves a couple of times but managed to stay with the defender and ride him past the QB.

On the sack, it was a stunt and I think Collins was partially responsible. It is unfortunate to have Weems both playing LT and playing next to a rookie. It would help him to get some reps on the right next to Martin.

Poor ole Dill is getting the most he can from his physical ability. He's not doing anything stupid, he just does not have the physical ability to play OL in the NFL. The Cowboys don't have many pure camp bodies that have zero chance to ever make a team somewhere but Dill is definitely the definition of camp body.

It's funny because last year most people argued with me when I said Parnell was good, especially in the preseason; however, this year now that people see the current backup OTs, both fans and media are extolling how much the Cowboys miss Parnell.

Back to Weems, I think he can definitely get better and probably become a reasonable backup; however, he needs more time and reps and the season is quickly approaching. As I said before, it would definitely help if he was at RT next to Martin. Maybe the in season plan could be to keep him at RT as the backup and move Free to LT if something happened to Smith. The probability is much higher that Free will miss time than Smith. I don't have a good feeling about Free's feet. He has had 2 foot/ankle surgeries in the past 18 months and had to miss time in TC to rest his foot or feet (I'm not clear on whether the 2nd surgery was on the same foot or opposite foot from the original surgery).

The other options are to move either Collins or Martin to OT if something happened to Smith or Free. I would really like to see Collins practicing there now, but they don't seem to have any plans to do that. They also have not had Martin take any reps at OT since he has been here. He has taken reps at Center but not at OT. Gibson is not an option according to reports. He looked OK against 3rd team Niner's defenders but they didn't show him any stunts or blitzes.

It's very hard for me watching a game to really judge a OT
And some see a sack and assumes who's fault it is
Weems has a ways to go but I think he is improving
he may never be great on the left side but you always have the option of moving free there in a pinch
If he can develope into a solid player that's great but like free or Parnell, it takes snaps to develope guys

Well, I DO watch the O-linemen-in slow motion, & I can tell you, it's not pretty. Neither Weems nor Wetzel have NFL tackle talent. Their knee bend is atrocious, & they have slow feet. Low man wins at the LOS, & these guys are statues. I now understand why we passed on a very good DT in Xavier Cooper to draft a RT in Chaz Green. I just wish he was a healthy one.

After watching this group get slapped around again, I have to wonder is coach Pollack over his head? There is no improvement anywhere as far as I can tell.

I've wondered the same exact thing.

Randle didn't block and got him killed...This is why Randle won't be back there when Romo is playing..

Weems didn't play bad against SF
He is not a starter ready guy but he is improving
Liked the green pick but don't think it's realistic to think he is going to be any farther along next year than Weems is this year
It takes reps to develope players
Weems hasn't had many and green hasn't had any
It took time to develope free and Parnell and it will take time to develope green and Weems

He speaks to Weems' actual technique as in his footwork and ability to sit down which are demonstrably poor. If you want to 'feel' alright about Weems then go for it.

Weems has been with the team for 3 years and he doesn't have the strength quickness nor body control of Parnell. Reps help but not that much. I don't think he hit a guy square all game.

The blitzer hesitated as Randle stepped up and Randle lunged. The ball was out as he was swiping at the dude's legs. The other time he picked up the LB fine. Wetzel just stared at the twist. I've watched a lot of football and one of the things I have come to dislike most is guys just staring plays down. Do something!
