My god what the BLEEP was that? Grow up you friggin' juveniles. IF you are a fan like most of us, you root for the guy in the game. It was absolutely mind boggling to me how guys were saying "I told you so" about Dak for most of the game. Gutless wonders one and all. Grow up and grow a pair.

Prescott did not play well. That's pretty obvious.

But two impressive drives to tie the game up and then win in OT.

I wonder if Jerry has an itchy trigger finger after this game.

l have huge love and respect for Dak and think he has incredible poise and upside, but he played terrible for most of the night. (Which is understandable considering he is a rookie playing in a huge game.) His accuracy was off and he made a number of bad decisions, and he could have easily thrown 3-4 interceptions. Frankly, if he played better it could have been a blow out in our favor.

Not sure why pointing that out is some kind of grave offense. People can make comments and observations in the game threads, it doesn't make them "haters" or undermine their loyalty to the team. I was cheering him on hard like I do any other Cowboy. Seems like you are making something out of nothing. Chill out.

I've been saying Romos the guy all along but I wouldnt bring him back yet let Dak stay out there so he can learn how to handle the Blitz. Kid needs the practice. The real season starts when playoffs begin bring Tony back week 15 or so no need to bring him back sooner unless we need to to sow up a first seed let the kid play.

How many times have we seen a game like this completely get away? Dak played like the rookie he is for the majority of the night but let's not pretend this game was no easy task for any qb let alone a rookie. I like the way he stepped up on the 90 yard drive to tie and in OT. Would have been easy to lose confidence.

They are a miserable depressed group right now. Cut them a little slack.

I don't think he's talking about valid criticisms and pointing out Dak playing terribly, it's people that relentlessly proclaim Dak will never amount to anything, has a weak arm, etc that are just flat out untrue, or at the very least highly unlikely given what we've seen from him at this point. There are some posters that post critique like this after every incompletion. It's incredibly clear their ego became way too intertwined with the QB arguments going on and I am frankly concerned for their overall mental health.

It's best just to give people a pass in the game threads... even the most reasonable of people knee-jerk all of the time in there. I have not held and never will hold something said in a game thread against someone.

You need to pay closer attention. If you do, you need to be chastising both sides of the argument. The people who are ripping on deck tonight are doing it for well-founded reasons. He had a bad game. Meanwhile, we have a few select Dak lovers who are ripping on Tony, and Tony hasn't played a game yet.

...and the Cowboys still score more points than any game that Romo was in last year. With Dak rushing for 1 TD and throwing for 2 more.

I've been a huge Dak fan and Romo critic over the years. I always call it like I see it. Brutally honest as my wife says.

I was wishing at halftime Romo was suited up. The way the game was going I didn't give Dak much chance to overcome 10 point 4th qtr deficit. But Dak continues to meet each test he's confronted with. Very impressive . As cowboy fans very excited.Looks like the next 10 years are going to be fun.

That said I still believe Romo healthy and near his 2014 form provides us a better opportunity to go deeper in playoffs not to mention some of these games not as close.

Interesting OP.
As I read the game thread I couldn't help but chuckle at at all the excuses being made for Dak's horrible play.
Blame the coach.
Blame the special teams.
Blame everyone but the QB who was missing throws he shouldn't have been missing.

I don't recall getting the impression that anyone was "slamming" Dak. He got some well deserved criticism. Is that what we're calling "slamming" now?

I am a Dak fan and am as excited as anyone about his start and hope as much as anyone that we hit the jackpot and have our QB for the next decade +
I am also a Romo fan who wants to see for himself if Romo is done. I don't believe he is but I obviously don't know. Just like everyone else here doesn't know.

Is it OK to be both or do I need to take a side and dig in for the battle?

Yeah. I stayed out of the thread last night in part due to anticipating a rough go of it for Dak...and not in the mood.
he did stink it up pretty bad for most of the game, but in the end he came through like a champ. Glad I didn't ride the in-game thread rollercoaster on that one.
New bulletin, the kid is not perfect.

I will say this, some of the biggest Dak advocates would have been (and have been) WAY worse on Romo if he played like that.
I tend to the think the anti-Romo group is much nastier than the other way around.

I just don't see why people can't pull for both guys to well when they're playing and realize they're not robots.

Back in the day when Tony replaced Bledsoe i took it hard. Because this is a first over-all pick and pro bowl quarterback being replaced by a kid who wasn't even drafted.

Well you know how that turned out.

The Romo fans are having some of the same feelings I had back then. The slipping away of a guy they respect and feel is the better option.

Lots of good reasons to keep dak as QB. Lots of good reasons to bring back Romo.

But if you recall the Washington games over the last few years, those guy blitz Romo into the stone age. One game he was hurt. And even Romo didn't look Romo-esque during those games.

So if your reasoning has to do with Dak looking less dak-ish against the eagles, that happens to most pros. You get a rush up the middle on brady and he looks like every other quarterback who can't step into a pass.

If Romo starts, I am still a Cowboy fan and will back the team. If he struggles at first, he will need to knock off the rust.

But there will be a day when they call Dak's number. That day may be when they make a half time move. And history says those days are when the baton is handed from one to the other. The Romo or nothing crew will be angry.

I know how you feel. I've been there.

But this is still the team i back and if it is Dak or Romo, I am still behind them. This is not about one player.

It is about one team. About one game. About one trophy.

How about both sides wait till AFTER THE GAME to do that sort of thing,
bottom line is they won the game ! 6th in a row ! no one should complain about that or the QB who has led those wins.

That short LSU guy who can't stand to paint Dak in a good light... You should go back and watch the game winning catch to Witten. He is the background and the moment Witten catches that pass he looks beyond pissed... Like his dog just got run over... It's priceless.

I imagine a lot of other folks felt the same way,
