Just because they're talking doesn't mean they'll make a deal, I just want everyone on here to be happy in the end!

The Cowboys brass have gotten so embarrassing…..negotiating? Really? With the current HC…..such a stupid FO.
Actually, it's not.. you're embarrassing, anybody talking about this should be embarrassed because there's no story until we hear real news out from the star ,not people making up stuff because it's in social media or they heard something somebody else heard and then by the time it gets to the fan base it's not a story it's made-up junk.

Let me tell you what it means to have a contract run out, which it already actually has it ran out when all the assistance contracts ran out except exclusive negotiating rights is a no tampering period, That allows the Cowboys and whoever their current head coach is to have discussions about a new deal exclusively.

the current deal is done, you have to negotiate a new deal ,but it's not just about whether he's going to be the coach here and what capacity is going to be the offensive coordinator ,is he going to be forced to hire a whole new offensive staff?? whos the DC?

there's a lot of details that have discussions about, and if they don't come to a full agreement ,then they will both walk away, and it will hire somebody else at this point it's not even worth talking about but you're calling them stupid for negotiating on a possible new deal he's no longer their current head coach ,you'd be very wrong technically the contract ran out ,and they're in a negotiating period,

Therefore having negotiations during a negotiating Period, Seems to be very normal, not stupid...
they don't need to make up their minds right away,
I hear people saying oh they haven't interviewed anybody and everybody else is so ahead of them..
no they're not, there won't be a single hire and you can hold this on a receipt but on Tuesday at midnight I'm betting every available head coach that the Cowboys had on their list possibilities will still all be available and they can start setting up interviews then, nobody should be in a hurry to hire a new guy there's no hurry right now a lot of the guys are probably on playoff teams and they are not able to come do a physical interview and discuss much and their focus is somewhere else...
But again in short all contracts have to be negotiated or renegotiated it's pretty much part of the process that doesn't mean they're gonna come to an agreement... We will find out Wednesday where this all went or by Wednesday right now I'm not worried about it got some good college games going on right now...

I think it hit them that he might be the best they can do.

But I hate the approach.

Like the Eagles settled for Sirianni and yes I think he sucks but they got to the SB and he ended up being the right guy for them. Same goes for Peterson. You just never know unless you try. Try the unknown and strike out. Try the same thing over and striking out is silly and stupid.

Mike did better than I expected and it’s not his fault we suck but you hired him to do a job and he didn’t do it. What’s the negotiations for?
