Well, let the controversy ensue

Did you happen to see how terrible the D has played since the 2nd quarter? At one point Byron completed 10 passes in a row. Bledsoe started playing bad, the OL and the D's play soon followed.

Our defense hasn't played well since the Saints game.

Really I think the thing that is the worst is the play calling.

They finally open it up and, boom, score!

The defense started stinking it up for sure, but they were on the field a long time, due to our offenses inability to sustain some drives. Any defense will start to crack once you see them on the field a long time. Plus, Jacksonville had really goof field position in the 2nd half.

Wow, way to pad the stats Bledsoe.

Why the heck couldn't you do that the rest of the game?

As bad as Bledsoe looked today. Our OLine is to blame. And Romo wouldn't have done any better.

Bledsoe is pretty much all we got right now. Maybe a few years from now Romo will be the guy but he would have been lost against the Jags D.

The line isn't to blame for those horrible passes. The line gave him so many opportunites and he just wasted it.

Bench that bastid!!! crap, i just blew a 100$ on this game

I'm not sure I agree that "Romo wouldn't have done any better behind that line."

To me, that's the big positive of Romo. He has an ability move in the pocket and still complete passes when things break down around him -- in the preseason, at least.

The risk, clearly, is we don't know what he can do in the regular season. Jerry once stated in the preseason that we could see Romo if the line struggles.

That comment, alone, is enough to fuel any of this speculation. Three interceptions and a terribly game-changing performance in a loss is even more.

A QBs mobility doesn't make him better. If he comes in he probably throws a bad pass and gets picked off and we lose by 14 instead of 7. We don't know how Romo can throw. That's what a QBs job is. Not to run around and avoid pressure on the time. You can be great at avoiding sacks but still throw it terribly. Romo as a QB is an unknown. And Parcells won't play an unknown till he proves something.

Drew was horrendous.

Sorry.

I was holding out hope an improved line, TO and 2-TE set would help him but HE THREW AWAY THE GAME (ie. seattle last year).

I'd rather see Romo in the final 15 without a doubt based on what transpired today and the preseason.

Romo played against backup defenses most of preseason. Even in the first game which he played the entire game. It's not like you have a gameplan on defense in the preseason. It's for evaluation. Preseason tells you nothing about how good a player is.

backup D or not... irrelevant.

Bledsoe played like a dope.

Romo (or any other backup QB) would be hard pressed to match his ineptitude shown today.

His stupidity also contradicts the #1 rule of Tuna (which is all the more perplexing if Drew doesn't get the hatchet this year)

You go try and throw against one of the best defenses in the NFL. It's not that easy.

Romo may have caught lightning in a bottle if he came in and won the game for us. I doubt it but you never know.

But could Romo take this team to a new level right now? Hell no.

Just asking......how do you know he couldn't.

I dont know if Romo could take us to the next level or not. I do know that Bledsoe can not. Today is not exhibit A, it is more like exhibit Z.
