Sooooo, how many unrestricted free agents are out there that we could sign that won't cost us an arm and a leg? It's not like every team is signing 5-6 players. This is going to be a slow offseason until the draft gets here.

The sky isn't falling.

oh, cost is an issue for us now. cool. i get it. stadium, nba all star game, and boxing more important. thanks.

Just to inject some logic into this back and forth...

From everything I've read, this has been the smallest UFA class in recent memory. Therefore the talent pool is limited, because no one is willing to give up draft picks for the RFA.

I believe most teams are anticipating the huge amount UFA players at the end of next season.

JMO, but I don't think there's any player that the Cowboys have absolutely missed out on. I understanding wanting an upgrade, but if a player is only a "slight" upgrade on what you have, you might as well stay with the player you have and look forward to the draft and FA pool next year.

and THAT may be a good point...that is why i was simple asking...may not 100% agree, but that may be the general consensus.

So disagreeing with your opinion is to "panic" or is being "negative"?

Gotcha.

Oh there is a logical way to express area's you think need to be improved and then there is irrational pouting off. Big difference.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Someone want to explain to him that one does not impact the other?

cost is always an issue just because this year is uncapped that doesn't mean next year is also. Jerry doesn't need to sign a player and screw up next year.

but saying someone is panicking because they are upset we haven't addressed any off-season needs is the same as me implying you are drinking the kool-aid and towing the company line. In both cases, the truth is somewhere in between.

I'm actually feeling really positive about our team's chances next year but I feel we have some areas of weakness we must address. OL depth and Safety come to mind and both were exposed in the Minnesota loss. I get that this uncapped year has created a weird free agency class. I get that we shouldn't overpay for a player. At the same time when I see our beloved owner say that they are going to START looking at possible free agents a week and a half into the free agency period, while seeing his mug all over TV taking about a boxing match, I start to not feel so good about our priorities.

Just to note, the Cowboys currently have the highest payroll in the league right now at $125 millon.

They've spent a ton to lock up their own players. So yeah, maybe people can gripe about the money some players are getting, but it's certainly not because Jerry & Co. haven't spent any.

Ya I guess.

A big chunk of salaries are being paid this year.

Isn't Newman getting like 13 mil this year?

I like how Jerry loaded it that way so we can keep our options open in 2011.

I bet we only have a 95 mil payroll next year

Like I said...guess we are perfect then...thanks...that Minnesota game must have been luck huh? Guess so.

THan i guess you didnt watch the Minne game or no one gave you an opinion. Do you really think if Flo doesnt go down we dont win? Did you notice it was when Flo went down that we tanked? No, good than, you understand football.

How about the fact that our defense is THIS good without a playmaking saftey that many teams need to be as good as ours? No, yeah the college ranks dole our play making safetys all the time. Thanx for paying attention?

AGAIN WHO ELSE DO YOU WANT????

This is a time in our franchise when the draft is more important than FA? Or do you want us to sign something because you are feeling left out.

I understand you dont graps the concept of what the adults are doing, but at least try to learn. The FA is still full and not many teams are making a lot of moves, the general consensus might be "lets see what the draft doles out than make our moves"

You just want us to sign so you can go say "WE SIGNED SO AND SO WE RULE"

Sorry I do think this team is SB contender and if Flo didnt go down I think we are hoisting it, sorry if my fandom got in your way of being pissy.

Sorry if i Feel the COWBOYS are doing hte right thing in seeing what comes to them and playing for the future unlike the Skins who say "WE NEED IT NOW AND WE WANT ATTENTION".

This is the first time in a long time we're we get many players back from the last draft and could use only a couple players in this draft to really make a difference. That does lead the thought to "yes this is a good team" Sorry if i dont see many flaws in the players, but more in the coaches. I'd work into your cry session but it would do either of us no good.

So go ahead and cry about but unless you are JJ or SJ you cant change it no matter how hard you cry.

And yes, getting revenue for the Stadium is a good thing, you may not like JJ but he does get people into that stadium to make the money he is owed for doing all this for the Cowboys Nation. Jump to the Bills or Arizona if you want something better, it wont hurt my sleep at all.

Problem #1 with this thread and even though it was suggested he could add it to support his post it has conveniently been ignored. I guess it's just not as fun taking the logical approach.

This is the kind of butt-hurt overreaction we've come to expect here in CZ during an offseason. Come on, everybody, we're not Cardinals or Rams fans. We're COWBOYS fans. We *really* piss and moan when our expectations aren't met.
