I was talking with my brother-in-law about this the other day. It's crazy how fast his career nosedived. I can't think of another QB that just regressed that quickly (well, maybe RGIII).

I do not think he was all that great ever. The rest of that eagles team elevated him.

In fairness, Wentz is the physically more talented player than Heinicki. Heinicki was playing very poorly in the previous game they had to win. He was benched, and Wentz played very well and helped them come back to win the game. That’s a situation where most coaches would not go back to the guy they pulled. I’m sure Rivera thought he was going with the hot hand. Going back to Heinicki 1 game after you benched him looks really weak. To me, if Rivera is fired, I’d fire him more for this than for last week. It shows he has no fricking clue and is backtracking his own decision after one weak. That’s a sign of weakness. Even if he wishes he hadn’t made that decision, he needs to act like he has a conviction.

Teams are desperate but I would think this is Wentz last shot at any kind of starter money. He may get signed by a desperate team

Without LVE, I’m not sure we have a LB who won’t be riding Robinson’s back for 5 yard carries. He’s a strong kid who’s hard to bring down.

As hard pressed as teams are at QB even backup QB, I think Wentz will be in the league. I do think a coach like Pederson in Jacksonville could be a possibility, but I do think for Wentz sake he would need to go to a coach who has a background as a QB coach. As a backup of course.
