Has anyone gone back to looks at MM and Joe Philbin’s previous teams to see how offensive line penalties were called for their units previously?

I want to hate on the refs, but what I see, on the offensive line at least, is a ton of reach blocking and not letting go. The Cowboys OL isn’t firing off the ball, they’re lulling back on their heels and reaching.

At this point, I think it’s a technical/teaching/coaching issue.
That is spot on!

If you truly feel there is this bias from the officiating, why bother to watch. Just watch WWE.

I see tricky tack applied to the holding calls against the Cowboys and those don’t look any different than against other teams to me.

I think the officiating needs more continuity and consistency across the board.

Clearly, Micah had Herbert in his grasp, thus the officials blew the whistle to protect the QB. You, Romo and others need to learn and understand the rules of what constitutes a QB sack.

Even the former official that CBS uses weighed in and didn’t think it was a sack. You think you’re right and all the experts are wrong. lol It was clearly a controversial call that went in our favor. So much for the refs being bias against the Cowboys.

There are 4 or 5 plays every game. We have a huge gain or big stop, and I’ll say to friends “a flag’s coming!” And boom, there it is! Without fail! Just sayin’!

The only way we win is if we score so many points…

Yes we do.....but if you don't think officials bias is real, you've never strapped it on.

Everyone has a team they like better than the other but officials don’t display their bias on the field or they’ll be caught. Officials are heavily scrutinized and there’s cameras everywhere. If they intentionally blow calls or make obvious bad calls they’ll be reprimanded by the league. Their entire crew will be penalized. One bad apple can affect the entire crew. Officials have been fired. Officiating crews are graded and low grades can prevent them from officiating a Super Bowl. We’re seeing more and more conferences between officials trying to get calls right. They have officials in New York keeping an eye on calls being made.

The networks are using former officials to give their opinion on calls. Most calls are based on judgment. It’s never going to be perfect and not everyone is going to agree on the calls that are made. If a call goes against your team you’re not going like it and think it was the wrong call. Officials have received death threats and their families have been threatened. It’s a thankless job. The league is doing everything they can to perfect officiating but it will never be perfect. Human beings make mistakes and not everyone sees things the same way.

It may not be intentional but it happens

Great post, I agree. All I’d add is this…as humans, mistakes ARE made, bias DOES exist, and the Cowboys are scrutinized more than any other team. As the most polarizing franchise, America’s Team, it goes with the territory.

Guess what? The head referee, his fellow referees on the field and the review official all agreed. It's within the rules that the referees have the right to call a play dead if they feel the QB is in the grasp and about to be tackled. All part of the new NFL rules to protect QBs. You and everyone else doubting should go learn them.

PS: The NFL league office never disputed it or even talked about, because the game officials called it correctly to enforce the rules passed by the NFL to protect QBs. Deal with it.

That’s your opinion. Everything is under review including the officials. No one escapes all the HD cameras that are out there and the millions of fans that are watching the games. Nothing is more scrutinized than officiating.

Say what you will but it was a controversial call. Just like a lot of calls that are made every week not everyone agreed with it. That’s the point! Officiating calls will never satisfy everyone. If the call goes against your team you’re not going like the call. Had that exact call been made against the Cowboys, you and the rest of this fan base would have been complaining about it. Everyone on this board would have been screaming we got robbed!

When the whistle is blown for the play to be called dead in order to protect the QB, there is nothing anyone can say about it. That is part of the new rules the league office, the player's union and the owners agreed to. Accept it and move on.

I'll add... Officials talk. Officials watch games too. They have a pre-game just like teams. They go into it knowing what teams are known for, so they are most likely going to look for those things.

Yep, when you are constantly screwing up, you dont get the benefit of the doubt. Common sense. The moral of the story is dont do penalties.

You need to accept the fact that it was a controversial call that many didn’t agree with. Had the same call been made against the Cowboys you would’ve been one of the ones complaining about it. You only agree with the call because it worked in our favor. Lol

Kind of like in the Raiders game....the penalties for and against may be similar but the impact, as in the Raiders game and last week...are crushing.

You’re giving an opinion. Everyone has biases but they’re not intentionally making bad calls and overlooking obvious calls during games because of a bias. If you believe they are then don’t watch the games.

Most penalties against and least penalties on opponents.

Nothing to see here.
