I am just speculating but maybe there is more trust in McFadden. Personally, I do not like any of our running backs. Obviously, I have not seen enough of Michael and will wait and see but I would imagine he winds up being here for only a cup of coffee.

Randle is pretty average but maybe he is not reliable as we have seen from some of his off the field issues. McFadden is probably slightly less than average but maybe more reliable. Personally, I think even at this stage in the year, you could find guys off the couch who could be just as productive as either.

That's my problem. The staff completely whiffed on their assessment of the RB position. And nothing has been unexpected. The only surprise is McFadden isn't injured...yet.

I'm not shocked w either move. Seemed Leary has struggled and when Collins started look what we accomplished quickly against the Falcons. I really think this coaching staff dislikes randle. We all know he's immature but he's not our main guy. I like the idea of Michael getting the bulk of carries.

They are dropping randle from the starting lineup.
So probably cmike starter, randle change of pace, and bench time mcfadden

This should have been done 2 weeks ago. If that had been the case we would probably be sitting at 3-2.

Yeah if DMC is higher on the depth chart over Randle after this bye week i will lose all my faith in this coaching staff

I'm picturing the personnel meeting.

Brave soul: So let me just throw this out there. What if La'el Collins and Christine Michael are better than what we have out there?

~South Park hostile crowd noise~

This must be music to you. I was skeptical about having Collins start at first, but in his limited snaps he's shown himself to be way more talented than Leary ever could be.

Jerry will never let McFadden go. He has been dreaming of McFadden wearing the Star for many years.

Jerry can and will let McFadden go...whether it be sometime this year or in the offseason.

I know it is a fun talking point to make about his love for McFadden but if he was so enamored and dedicated with him, McFadden would be the starer and getting more reps by now.

One thing about Jerra, he will make a change to something that's not working. He will high praise the guy all day then send him packing that night.

Probably pushes Randle to #2 and McFadden to primary blitz picker upper.

After watching his terrible blitz pickup against the Patriots, I am soured on DMC. That was supposed to be one of his strengths.

Keep in mind of one of C.Mike's weaknesses.

He has been known to fumble the ball.

Just keep that in the back of your mind when we are getting our excitement built up that he might be the starter soon.

The coaching staff is desperate. That's the only reason they're making these changes, albeit good ones.

Yep...these guys like to have that long established talking point about Jerry and Arkansas players and when they finally signed McFadden it was like now he will never be gone.

Truth of the matter is Jerry has passed on many Arkansas players. Jerry has talked good about McFadden so now he will never get rid of him...never mind the fact that he has not been a starter and his plays have been limited for a player that Jerry thinks the world of.

And as you have stated. Jerry was talking about how good a passer Weeden is and now they are talking making Cassel the starter. Jerry talking about how he would not get rid of TO only to get rid of him a week or so later.

Moving Collins is a great idea. Get him in a nice rhythm with the rest of the line in time for Tony's return.

I don't think anyone should be surprised about Collins really; from the moment he was signed, he was always viewed as a possible upgrade to Leary who will be a RFA next year.

And Randle and DMC are just guys; CMike potentially is to, but better to give him a shot, see what he's got and sweep the cupboard clean next year if none of our RB's are worth a lick.

I thought anyone could run behind this line?
Wait...which line? I guess people meant the Line with Collins not Leary.

Awesome...now we finally get to see anybody run behind this line.

Maybe with Cassel they can get the wheel route to the RB back in play with DMac down the sidelines,
****
Its hard to evaluate the OLine and RB with Romo/Dez out and box stacked, especially when Weedon trains the Def. for at most a 5 yard checkdown route also
****
Hope the 2 weeks gives Linehan a "opportunity" to study Pats and Packers Pick routes...and incorporate them, maybe even remember that he has Escobar as a mismatch dream coming off a pick route with a 5.10" cb.............
****
Bum Phillps---a good coach can take his and be yours, and take yours and beat his. Its not all about inserting Cassel, CMike and Collins----its about putting them in position to succeed.
