I know I will.
bysbox1;3143164 said:A. We have had meaningful games for the last 2 weeks, what makes you think this team will get up for this game?
B. There won't be that many Dallas fans there for that game. It's going to be Who Dat craziness in New Orleans. The Saints thrive off of that home field crowd.
C. Begging for a Loss? New Orleans averages 38 points at home. Dallas has only scored an average of 21 points a game in the last 3 games.
D. Once again, the last 2 games should have been Super Bowls for Dallas and they could not get up for the last 2 games. Plus you can bet that Sean Payton has had this game circled on his calendar since last year.
E. Dallas has not hit a running groove. Garrett is too afraid to run the ball, and the run game has been inconsistent week by week. Just like this team, you don't know what running game will show up.
F. Did you watch any of the game today? Our secondary was getting schooled by San Diego's wide receivers. With no D. Ware to create a pass rush, expect more of the same even worse against New Orleans.
G. We may be in the game, but looking at the body language of this team during the game this team has already quit. It may be close for a quarter or two becuase we are now in desperation mode, but in the end New Orleans will pull it out.
I would not bet on this game as an upset, unless I wanted to lose money ...

It's the agony and ecstasy of being a Cowboys fan.casmith07;3143720 said:I agree. I know it's doom and gloom right now, but I can see us going in there and lighting it up, only prolonging the agony of another anemic offensive showing in Washington the week after.
Givincer;3143612 said:Well I'd be hard pressed to say I'm not weary when I see everyone saying "no, we can't beat them." I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys beat the Saints. But at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys got blown out because they quit at halftime either.
Alweezy;3144666 said:Ok regardless of how you spin this, the Saints can be beaten by the Dallas Cowboys. I mean yes they are a good football team but everyone gets caught up in their offense and how prolific it is on Monday morning, but really when you look at what they have done it has been average at best.
I'm going to break this down because there is some truth in all of this:
The Saints peaked against the New York Giants in the matchup of undefeated. If you remember correctly, NY was the cream of the crop, and N.O. waxed them proving that there was a new order of supremecy, and going on this crazy streak.
Throughout the streak, Brees has been very accurate, but there has been one underlying issue.
when the Pats went 16-0, there was probably 3 hiccups along the way. For the most part, that offense was as complete a unit as you could have. The Pats finished teams off, and then one upped them on the scoreboard. The Saints for about 5 weeks excluding the Monday Night Football game vs. New England, have not done that to anybody that's not 1-12.
The Saints have been winning on timely turnovers, teams imploding on themselves, shooting themselves in the foot, and big plays.
The Cowboys for once have not had a problem containing the big play this year. If they play anthing close to how they played vs. Philly where they keep everything in front of them and avoid straight up tacklng wide receivers before they catch the ball, they will be alright. DeSean Jackson looked like a regular player vs. our secondary, and we know first hand that McNabb has a cannon on par with Brees if not better.
Let's look at the games now.
Blew out the Giants and Philly, but then again Philadelphia turns the ball over on a kick return shifting all the momentum. The Eagles were with them with their backup QB before the wheels came off.
We already aluded to the fact that Saints had something to prove against the G-Men, and well the Giants up until that point had been over rated as it was. We put up big points on them, and probably should have beaten them. new Orleans did nothing but expose them an over confident team.
This is the point in which I think the Saints hit their peak because:
the Next week, Miami should have won this one, but shot themselves in the foot in the fourth quarter and allowed the Saints to come back thanks to a big play, and 14 points on 2 Interception returns. Hardly anthing that was gameplanned for.
Atlanta driving for the go ahead score the next week turns the ball over in the redzone. New Orleans escapes even with 4 turnovers because Matt Ryan evens it out with 3 picks on his own.
The next week, Carolina could have won as well, but a big play gives the Saints momentum yet again, another turnover allows the Saints some breathing room, and then DeAngelo Williams fumbles the ball on the first play from scrimmage and gives the Saints another 7 to pad the scoreboard stats.
The NEXT WEEK GUYS C'MON NOW, the St. Louis Steven Jackson's have the a chance to win because their defense came to play. But then they stumble overthemselves, and New Orleans gets a kick return on the first play from halftime for a touchdown. The D keeps it close, but the offense never really gives them a legit chance after that swing of momentum. Saints score 21 points of offense on the Rams.
they blow out Tampa, which they should have.. they are 1-12 after all, and have been losing like that all season.
The New England game rolls around, and NE tries to get in a shootout with the Saints. Bad decision, and the Saints score on big plays outclassing the New England secondary. Once again, if we play them like we played Philly's big play and keep in mind why Belichek's offensive approach failed this game, we will be alright.
The Washington Debacle, heh we know how that one ended up... that should honestly be our motivating point to show that it is possible to play good defense and beat this team. but once again the offense stumbles over themselves, misses an easy chipshot fg and the Saints are back to being invincible.
Yesterday, the Falcons with their backup, keep pace with the Saints although new Orleans moved the ball fairly well, with all that said, it's the fourth quarter and the Falcons have positioned themselves to possibly take the lead or tie the game, and as with many other games this season, the offense makes a poor decision and the Saints get a turnover to sneak away with a win.
As I said earlier, What have the Saints done this season that we haven't already seen? They are a good football team don't get me wrong, but I think San Diego might have been a better offense against our personel. We have a chance, the Saints are indeed begging for a loss, because when you win games like they have the luck is bound to run out.
And also, anyone who has played and knows the trends of this sport, knows that is easier to lose one when it doesn't matter and win because of it, than to win all of them trying to avoid a letdown in the postseason. The Saints will certainly be battle tested against adversity when the playoffs roll around but you really have to wonder how many games are quarterbacks going to hand the game over to the Saints. How many more times the Saints are going to get a timely kick return, or a busted coverage, before it all ends.
I think it happens Saturday, on a primetime game, during a short week, with a Dallas team that everyone has left for dead. If the Saints have proven one thing this year, is that they will give you an opportunity to be in the game. You can not dispute that because it has been the case for the past 7 weeks excluding the Pats and any team that's 1-12.
This is a game that is ripe for the taking... Dallas just has to win the turnover battle IMO to have a good chance at winning.

I've been saying this for weeks now.
The Saints are the luckiest team in the world. I have no clue how they get these gifts handwrapped for them.
They should have about 2-3 losses but thanks to boneheaded plays they squeek out wins.
Don't give them gifts and they can be beaten.

because they go hard and give everything they got to win. I believe the teams that keep hustling and give everything they got tend to get the more lucky bounces. our team doesn't do that.SLATEmosphere;3145266 said:Awesome post bro.
