We're in trouble if we don't fix this Pass Rush

Did Davis play? He is #75. I saw an x5 several times but I assumed it was #95 Irvin but it might have been #75 part of the time.

I am pretty sure he played. I clearly saw 75 in there a few times. He's much stockier than Irving too.

I was focused on Collins and just noticed an x5 on the pile a few times.

Until our coaches and front office realize that drafting running backs do not make defenses better, we will struggle with the pass rush. I like Zeke, but we needed defensive help exponentially more than we needed a RB.

The team that led the league in time of possession last year was not the team that played smashmouth football. It was the team that had 38 takeaways (compared to our 11) and they were in the Superbowl.

Exactly.

If the front office had just cycled through a ton of guys trying to find a mix at DE that worked, I could live with that. But instead they truly believed their collection of JAGs would be just fine. And it's going to cost them this season unfortunately unless Lawrence and Tapper turn into two studs.

Nothing for nothing, but Freeney doesn't have a defensive stat after two games.

I think our secondary is above average. I think it would be good to very good if they found a true centerfielder to play the Wilcox role. Although I have no problem with our secondary outside of Wilcox.

Our linebackers are very limited. Lee is probably the only guy who I think would get playing time for most teams. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Our front four is really disappointing. Marinelli wants to get pressure by rushing four. That is not going to happen very often with this group. Blitzing can be good but does cause some big plays against you. Even with Lawrence back, we will need to invest in at least two pressure players this offseason. It would be ideal if we found a guy in the interior who could cause fits all game long. Those guys tend to impact the rest of his teammates and can really impact the other teams offense.

Ryan Davis showed a little juice. Would have sacked Hoyer at about the 3 minute mark without a flagrant hold by the LT...that of course wan't called. Got pressure on a couple more.

I don't understand how they can be so bad for literally the entire game. Even when we forced them in passing situations (entire 2nd half), we still could not sniff the QB. I really thought they'd have a decent game vs the Bears but they actually looked worse than Week 1/2.

If I'm McClay, I have a dozen guys come workout this week b/c we're in for a rude awakening vs our next four opponents if we don't fix this. I'd gladly take the 2015 pass rush right now at this point.
agree 100%... I kept waiting for one of our guys to really put the pressure on Hoyer and we could not do it.... what will happen when we meet team with really good players on the OL

Wasted a pick on Gregory suspended 14 games smh(high second rounder), Lawrence suspended, McClain suspended, tapper hurt smh man the dline and one of our best run defenders took a hit.
He was a wasted pick before the suspension. He's nothing more than JAG.

I want to know why receivers have no problem at all being WIDE open against us. NONE of our receivers are ever open as much as everyone we've played so far.

Irving is a beast. I think the coaches probably don't like him fitting in the 4-3 as much as Crawford/Mayowa/etc. and while it is true that he would probably be great as a 3-4 DE, he still needs to see the field more here. His bull rush is superior to anything those guys have.

Lawrence may help, but I have my serious doubts. The lack of pressure on Hoyer yesterday was ridiculous. Thankfully having Dak on-board will free up a ton of resources we would have used trying to find a qb.
