A lot of revisionist history by some posters in this thread who are now trying to claim they knew the pass rush was going to be a problem. Many said the pass rush would be adequate, especially with the new additions at DT providing a push in the face of QBs. And yet through the first 3 weeks, QBs have had pretty clean pockets. Even a couple of times when our ends last night finally generated some outside pressure, Hoyer was able to step into a clean pocket.
The front office completely failed this offseason. It's mind numbing really when you take into account Jones made the pass rush a priority in February and all this talk of building a team around Romo to get him a ring in his last few years. And then they went out and their only new faces at DE were a 4th round pick and a cast off from the Raiders.
For all intents and purposes this is pretty much the same D as last year that struggled to get turnovers and sacks. People shouldn't be surprised that this year the team struggles to get turnovers and sacks.
And as for those with the retort, we've held teams to around 20 points................. that's nice. But people are looking at the bigger picture and better offenses with better QBs will pick this defense apart. And that's a shame because even with Prescott at QB, this team has a SB caliber offense. But stupidity, ignorance and total unchecked risk at defense will likely cost them.
