What I'm getting at is in today's NFL players don't stay on teams very often.

We are fans of the team, not the players anymore. Yes we still root for the players but it doesn't feel the same.

I really am sick of free agency, I like FA to tweak rosters, not to revamp.

I like it when teams show respect for players that played for them, like extending there contract.

I don't feel safe buying jerseys anymore, it seems the player will be gone in a year or two and playing on a different team.

I like to go into a season with basically the same guys you have the year before with a few modifications.

I liked Key I thought he would end his career here, but after two great seasons we show him the door. Glover same thing. Coakley had a great CAREER here and we showed him the door. And it seems we might show the best lineman in NFL history the door, its just sad really.

I don't like playing roulette with different QB, WR, LB, CB, year after year.

But this is just one guy's opinion.

It is easier to root for specific players on your own team when you have superstars. Dallas lost all its superstars a while back and havent been able to replace them. Most of us love Roy Williams because hes a great player that we drafted and hes exciting to watch. Maybe someday Dallas will be able to draft another Probowl calibur player.

Its one of the reasons Fantasy Football keeps exploding, its easier to root for players on other teams when you have a vested interest in them.

In truth I've always been both. For example, I was a Walter Payton fan, but I don't root for the Bears unless them winning helps the Cowboys. There are certain classy players that it is very easy to enjoy watching them play.

My loyalty first and foremost will always be to the Cowboys. There have been several Cowboys players over the years that I simply was nto a fan of, but I still rooted for them to do well. A good example for me is Robert Thomas. I really did not like the guy. That doesn't mean I wanted him to miss blocks. That kind of thinking never enters into my mind.

It has always been about the team for me. Like Hos mentioned, some players I like/liked more than others, but in the end all that matters to me is the W. My favorite player is the guy with the star on his helmet.

That is not a problem with our team. Name some examples of players we have drafted whom rose to stardom and then left us in free agency during the prime of their career for greener pastures? I can't think of one off the top of my head since Jerry has taken over.

I see it with other teams, yes, but not with the Dallas Cowboys. The core stars we draft, almost always stay Cowboys for life. And the only time they do ever really leave is towards teh end of their careers when outragious sums of money are coming there way which they're not worth anymore. Jerry is one of the very best owners when it comes to taking care of his players.

I think it is more then just the NFL the whole society has changed ...it is a global phenomena... many factors directly or indirectly contribute to this...look at TV we used to watch same program and talk about it or listen to a song and everyone sing it for a long time , now too many channels too many sports too many things hard to know even what your brother watching or interested in . Money has replaced organized religions and become our religion whatever brings you cash then it is justified even if it was unmoral sometimes ago. This is normal process it is a wind of change I might not like it..You might not like it but one thing for sure you can’t revere the clock.
